Ichiban Sushi Rocklin — Restaurant in Rocklin

Since moving to Rocklin, it’s honestly been a bit of a struggle to find restaurants that really hit the mark for me. I’ve tried a handful of spots, but nothing’s really stuck—until now. This place might actually be a strong contender.

First off, the portion sizes are no joke. You definitely get your money’s worth, and then some. I ordered the tempura, it was crisp, flavorful, and didn’t feel heavy or greasy at all. You can tell they care about how things come out of the kitchen.

What really stood out, though, was the staff. For how packed the place was, everyone was super friendly and genuinely accommodating. You could tell they were hustling, but they still made the effort to check in, smile, and make sure people were taken care of. That goes a long way for me.

I honestly can’t say how amazing the customer service is. Not only do they make amazing food and deliver it fast, but they remember you. I don’t frequent ichiban, but I will now. I went in and for no fault of our server, the ability to pay by credit card was down. She gave me the bill and when I asked to come back and pay she said it was ok. Who does that these days? I left with the bill and returned the following day(today) to pay. It gave me another chance to have a great lunch. She took things off the bill because I had to come back and pay. I made sure everything was put back on the bill and I am happy to pay all of it. They went out on a limb and trusted me. As I left she said she would see me next week. I now have a place for sushi I will return regularly. It isn’t about the food, which is great.

My favorite sushi place around. I've been going there at least once a month since I moved to the neighborhood in April 2018. The owners and staff clearly take a lot of pride in the place, and they are super sweet and fun. I love that they remember my boyfriend and me every time.

The food is delicious and beautiful (even packed up for takeout) and obviously high quality. They've got a lot of creative rolls (my boyfriend has been systematically trying them all), and a lot of options for people who don't want raw fish. My favorite things on the menu are the Giants and Half Dome rolls and the salmon nigiri, but honestly you can't go wrong.
