Dunkin' — Restaurant in Rockville

The donuts are NOT even close to the same tasty goodness they once were, but then again, the donuts didn't used to be cooked in giant industrial bakeries hundreds of miles away and then shipped in on trucks days in advance of their use. In the past, the donuts were cooked on site. When you walked into any location, the warm air was heavy with the rich aromas of pastry, sweet toppings, and fresh coffee. Now, all the locations just smell like cardboard.

Also, when I asked the counter help for "Honey Dipped Donuts", they looked at me with a blank expression, as if I had asked for "bleep blop bleep blop boop". I then corrected myself, stating, "glazed donut". Apparently, counter help could not figure out these were different names for the same donut. The donut each name describes sounds nothing at all like the other, except for it sounds exactly the same. It was a head tilt, mental, "really?" moment.

Other than a mediocre donut in a cold warehouse smelling store in a sketchy neighborhood, it was okay. Oh, I got a grilled cheese, too. The bread's pretty good. I can't say anything else about the rest of it. It wasn't even a grilled cheese sandwich. There was bread and cheese, yes, but that's where the similarities ended. I will say, the cheese WAS slightly melted, but other than that, it did not taste or resemble any grilled cheese sandwiches with which I've been...

The clean bathrooms at this Dunkin were a good find because I'm on the road all day for my job. The service here is fast and friendly. Will be coming back soon for sure.

Update: The young lady that waited on me today, her name was Nicole, had outstanding and phenomenal customer service! Service! Although my hibiscus tea was out of stock, she substituted something else and I was left very satisfied and fulfilled. This place always has a clean bathroom, which is very important for us Metro drivers. I appreciate good service, clean bathrooms and an opportunity to make someone smile. Thank you so much! Nicole, kudos to you for doing great job.

I love the location! So close to my house. Drive-thru is a great idea, but doesn’t work well at all for mobile orders. Faster to just go inside. And they need to work on presentation. Wake wraps I have gotten a few times are always sloppy and not put together with care. Their donuts are also not quite up to Dunkin standard yet either, a bit over cooked and smaller than normal. Today they forgot to give me my complete mobile order, they forgot the cold items and just gave me the warm part of the mobile order. I realized when I got home. I will go back, they just need to focus on product quality and attention to order detail. It’s only been open 3 weeks, so I hope they get...
