Lived in Rogers Park for over 20 years back when this place was Burger King, then wing man’s, now taco pros. I stopped here once an opening day, and once again today. To give the restaurant a full review I have ordered at least one of everything on the menu which was totally about $110. Sad to say, this place did not live up to its name. To start off the portion sizes are too small for the cost they want. It seemed as the Tortas and burritos had about the same amount of meat as the tacos, which I think is messed up. The rice has no flavor, The refried beans are pretty good. The Elote was as bland as can be, when I got home and tried it, I had to add some salt and cayenne pepper Which made it a lot better. The enchiladas had very little meat, and the tortillas were very dry and falling apart. The french fry supreme with steak and the french fries with nacho cheese were probably the best things that I had here. I will say the worst thing I was disappointed overall with was a small flat burrito with very little meat. I understand things are different these days But as a Mexican food establishment people expect good portion sizes. As you know in Rogers Park, where taco pros are there are three additional Mexican restaurants within 3 to 4 Block radius. in my opinion to the owner, who would like to see this place succeed. Please go to the Surrounding Mexican restaurants and compare the flavors and pricing Of their food, I think you’ll be a little surprised of the results. to the owner of this place, I think you guys done a wonderful job fixing up the place and with the customer service it’s excellent and very clean. But I would, please consider adjusting either the portion size or the price because the restaurant still has to fit the neighborhood. in conclusion, I would say that next time my family is craving Mexican. I will be driving an additional three blocks to one of the other Mexican food...
Read moreEpic experience this evening for the grand opening where the cashiers cannot perform a simple request. I made a tacos pro loyalty account yesterday and received 100 points which equals to a $5 reward. I asked the cashier multiple times to scan my QR code to redeem my reward towards the purchase and she was not capable of doing that!!!! She said to pay first and then afterwards I could redeem my $5 reward by plugging in my number which makes zero sense because if I’m paying the full amount how am I gonna be able to use the $5 reward after the purchase?!?!!? Ugh her bright idea didn’t work as I payed the full amount without being able to redeem the $5 reward which was annoying. I felt like I was talking a foreign language because she didn’t seem to understand what I was telling her to do. Doubt I’ll be returning to this location because if this is how incompetent the workers are on the first day opening, I’d hate to imagine what they will be like...
Read moreWent and tried Taco Pros.
The staff was very organized and the restaurant was pretty clean for a quick service restaurant.
The food was decent.
I thought the tortilla for the taco was a little dry and chewy.
The churros were pretty good, I would have preferred condensed milk instead of chocolate sauce and strawberry sauce.
Chips and salsa were hot and fresh. I enjoyed the option...
