Feeling a bit sketchy about going there to eat since I hadn't been feeling the best so we decided to order it to go ahead of time. I got online and pulled up the menu. Everything looked so good. She and I both decided on the 12 oz ribeye, the ribs with mine, the grilled shrimp with hers. She got a house salad and I opted for the Caesar's salad instead. I had steak fries and she had the steamed broccoli. We got the Blossoming Cactus to share between the two of us. We picked up our order at the designated time in the drive thru and all the way home the smell was enough to make us crazy hungry. Got home and sat down to eat. Her house salad consisted mainly of the white bitter lettuce that should have been tossed in the trash when they first rinsed it. Inedible is how my wife described it. My Caesar's salad was ok but I'll know to avoid it next time. The onion was good but they forgot to include the dipping sauce we specified. I got the bleu cheese chunks on my steak and it tasted really good, there just wasn't enough of that 12 oz ribeye that was even edible once I got past all the gristle and fairly uncooked fat that tasted gross. It was more like a 7 or 8 oz steak after all the undesirable parts were trimmed off or spit out and fed to the dog. She had no problem with it. I, on the other hand, have eaten my fair share of excellent grain fed beef in my lifetime, some even cost over $100 for the steak alone, so I'm well familiar with what a good quality ribeye is supposed to look like, taste like and with little to absolutely zero scraps for the dog. Benecia, our Rat Terrier, had nothing bad to say about it though. The ribs were dry and had to be pried off the bones. Evidently whoever does their smoking has forgotten the one simple rule. The absolute best bbq ribs are done low and slow, meaning low heat and left alone to smoke extra time even. I'm very disappointed, considering this was a gift card the kids had given us for Christmas. The meal was average at best, not what I've come to expect from the Roadhouse, considering their reputation for being a top notch place to eat. It certainly wasn't the $80+ dinner we had anticipated. I really don't see myself going back anytime soon unless it's a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe manager, Josh, stopped by our table and since there was a problem with my Texas Roadhouse VIP Club from 2 years ago didn't send a birthday coupon for this year, he gave us one. Such great customer service! I had the butteriest side of corn cut off the cob! I loved it! Ate every bite. I also liked the yeast rolls with cinnamon butter and I split a baked potato with Mom which was delicious!! We definitely loved the pork ribs which were fall-off-the-bone scrumpcious!! Sorry the pic has ribs and potato already eaten on . . . They were so delicious that we dove right in!! But be aware the Half order is 6 - 7 bones, but the Full Order IS NOT DOUBLE the amount of meat!! Marketing is pulling a Fast One the number of calories 900 vs 1350 or so was a CLUE)!! Full Order is composed of (1) Half Order 6-7 bones plus (1) of the Add-on $9.99 4-bones rib. So instead of 12 - 14 bones, you get 10 - 11 bones. That's a substantial loss of meat, but not as expensive as the Half Order plus $9.99 . . . I think you get $4 or $5 off by ordering the so-called "Full" Order. However, we still ordered it. NOTICE: the Add-on does include the small end of the slab which gets over-done, and there's nothing any cook can do about that. One end of every Rib Slab is thicker and wider than the other end, which causes difficulty for everyone when smoking a rib slab, and everyone overcooks the small end by the time the large end gets done. So Pro Tip, if you're a Rib Connoisseur, order 2 Half Orders to get the juiciest, best parts of 2 rib slabs. Yes, it's more expensive, but if you're all about that Big Butt, you'll thank me later if you see someone else with the Add-on dried out piece which you won't have to deal with if you order 2 Half Orders. I definitely caution against spending the $9.99 to add ribs to another meal, like a steak dinner. Thank you Josh and to our waitress (maybe Kaylie)!! We'll be back to Texas Roadhouse in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've heard and read so many good things about this place my wife and I were excited to go try this place out. We have never been to a Texas Roadhouse before. The place was very busy but we were still able to get seated almost immediately. Everybody greeted us and was very friendly when we walked in the door. Our hostess grabbed a basket of fresh rolls as she seated us which we were really impressed with. We love a good bread basket and we're very happy to see how they did this. After being seated we did have to wait a good 5 minutes before our waitress finally came to the table but they were very busy. Our waitress was very friendly as was everybody else. We felt the meal was getting off to a good start, however the rest of it did not go well. I ordered a New York strip and my wife ordered the filet minion. we both got a side of mashed potatoes and a side of french fries. They forgot to bring my wife's fries when they brought out the food, not too big of a deal. However once we had all of our food the fries were not crispy on the outside at all. Did not taste fresh. Mashed potatoes were only warm and OK but not that great. At least they were real mashed potatoes. My steak was ordered medium and came medium rare. My wife's filet she specifically asked to make sure it was juicy but not bleeding all over the plate. It was not juicy it was almost dried out. She didn't even finish her steak and I had a hard time finishing mine line because it was so rare. We could have complained and waited for all new food but we didn't have the time and didn't feel like waiting since it was so busy. Unfortunately we left not feeling like this place was worth the money. Maybe we just got unlucky but there are definitely better steakhouses in the area for the money. It is really unfortunate because we really wanted to...
