Before I start I should say I’ve worked in the restaurant industry as a hostess and as a server before. So this was my first time going here, my sister and her fiancée love this place and wanted to show it to my mother and I on our trip to Arkansas. We practically sat ourselves when we came in there was maybe 2 or 3 tables still sitting there so wasn’t that busy but looked like it was 2 “serves” on the floor. The guy takes forever to grab our drink he passes us multiple times and then is like “oh yeah let me get y’all’s drink order” um okay so we place our drink order and then he takes time to bring them but comes back to get our food order…still no drinks. He gets half of our food order cause I guess a big table walked in so I guess they wanted to pay for attention to them. I remember when I worked as a server people always assumed a bigger table meant a better tip. That’s not always the case tho. So anyways we get a few of our appetizers before we even get our drinks I’m baffled cause what the heck. He comes back to get the other half of our order and everyone food comes out but mines. My family is eating their food and I’m sitting there just drinking my tea and an appetizer I ordered. I’m thinking maybe because of the big table maybe my order got pushed back. A lady comes and checks on us cause the guy barely does like my brother in law and my sisters cups were empty and they were waiting on refills but the guy Drew was his name was barely checking on us. Maybe he wasn’t trained well or enough because he did seem new or maybe because they were short staffed for Saturday night and they felt overwhelmed with the big table that was literally only 8 people. My sister ends up having the lady replace my order and have it Togo because the service we were getting was terrible and I was ready to just go home. I tipped really well as I know how life as a server is when tables stiff you. The lady I wish I got her name was very nice and helpful she was wearing some green St Patrick earrings . Aside from the service the food was really really good. Guess it’s better to just...
Read moreI just read a previous review from 4 months ago, and it rang true today for me and my family.
This was our first time trying this restaurant. I was hopeful the food would be a great experience, but sad to say, we were disappointed.
First, the ordering process was a little difficult due to the language barrier. However, we worked through it. The staff member gave me a 30 minute pick up time but 10 minutes after placing the order I was texted 4 times that the food was ready. I scrambled to get there sooner so the food would not get cold sitting there. Food was ordered at 6:12 pm, and I paid for it at 6:35 pm, so 13 minutes passed before I got there to pick it up. When I arrived, they were just bagging up the food. I was glad for that because it meant the food would still be hot. Wrong.
I live 4 minutes from the restaurant, and when we got home, all the food was room temperature. Ok, I can heat food up a little and get over it.
The biggest problem was the very disappointing portion sizes.
We ordered egg rolls, sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken, Mongolian beef and a sushi roll. Each of the chicken boxes were only half full and mostly peppers or sauce. At $13.00 each chicken dish, this was absolutely not worth the money.
The Mongolian beef dish portion size was the worst. It was also $13.00 and had approximately 1 ounce of shaved beef in the container. We paid $13 for a dish of gravy soaked onions with mushrooms and a spattering of meat. I've attached a picture to show the contents.
The food had to have been either microwaved or was hurried through cooking (pre-cooked and then flash fried) but never allowed to get hot. This is not freshly cooked food. It is a reheated product I am quite sure.
In all, I paid $68.96 for average taste and lukewarm, pre-cooked food with very poor portion sizes. I am highly disappointed by the first experience here.
On a side note, the place is cozy and has a great atmosphere. The staff were very cordial when I got there, but the execution on the food was way...
Read moreI REALLY want to like this place, and hope my meal was result of the place being two weeks old. The atmosphere is SO cute! I hope they can make it.
I placed a call in Togo order, which was extremely awkward. I got passed to three different workers, having to repeat my order each time. After completing my order, they said “see you soon” with no time estimation, total, didn’t ask for my name, nada.
I ordered the Cashew Outside Chicken Stir Fry and a Philly roll.
Look at the picture of the stir fry - those chicken pieces were LARGE ones I tried to pull out. It was entirely vegetables. It was called CASHEW stir fry and mine had no cashews. It also said on the menu it was served under crispy rice sticks - I didn’t have those. It also said it was served non-spicy, but mine definitely had red pepper flakes and spice to it (which was fine, but noting for those that don’t like spice). The sauce was pretty sweet.
For $9, the amount of salmon in the roll was comical. Absolutely not worth $9. The rice was properly made.
The food tasted fine but I don’t feel like I got what I paid for. Any Chinese related items, I’ll just go across the street to China Cafe. I really hope I got a bad night and I hope things get better...
