OMG. The local joint we’ve been looking for! Being from NYC and Connecticut my wife and I know our pizza. Our first year in NC was spent searching for a decent pizza. Just a decent one. Someplace that makes it thin crust and well done - not burnt. A place where the pizza passes the standup test (fold it and hold it out and it doesn’t flop). Thank GOD for Pie-Zano’s. Why are they so good?
Fast - this place is popular and so it’s busy. But they promised we could pick it up in 30m and they honored that. Organized - this place has a calm and energetic feel. You can’t eat there but there’s lots of people and lots of orders waiting to be filled for dinner. The gals up front are calm and organized. Behind the counter everyone is engaged and moving moving moving. No North Carolina lazy here. These people are moving. So even though you may wait you definitely feel like it won’t be for long. Texture - the well done is slightly crispy. Not burned and not too hard. The slices are definitely NYC style. The crust is thin to medium so not doughy at all and the edge is only 1/2” wide so the slices are covered almost rim to rim. Get the 18”. Taste - we had onions, peppers and mushroom and they grilled the onions. Get that? THEY GRILLED THE ONIONS LIKE YOU’RE SUPPOSSED TO so the water doesn’t make the dough soggy!!! The Cheese was high quality too. This made for a non-greasy pizza with tons of flavor. And the edge is only about a ½” wide so you don’t feel like they are skimping on ingredients to reduce cost.
We will definitely be going back for more since this place also has my wife’s seal of approval. Just a damn good pizza. Thanks...
Read moreExcellent NJ/NY style pizza! We ordered pick up Saturday evening for the 1st time. Thin fresh crust, fresh toppings, zero greasy/soggy bottom.
We ordered a large regular pie with pepperoni & mushrooms (excellent sauce), a large white pizza which was the best white pizza we ever ate… the ricotta tasted homemade, tons of garlic, just excellent!, the mozzarella sticks (delish), and a dozen wings which were cooked perfectly and my husband devoured them immediately.
We live in Wake Forest so by the time we drove to Pie-Zano’s (20 minutes) it was coming out of the oven. Price was right. Friendly service. They have 1 table outside, otherwise it’s pick up only.
Please open another location in Wake Forest off 98. We need an excellent pizza parlor and tons of new houses to support it. For now… we’ll drive...
Read moreStopped by this pizza shop for a quick bite and left genuinely impressed. The place is clean and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive, making you feel like a regular even on your first visit.
One standout feature is their community “give and take” area, where people can leave or take essentials like baby diapers, canned food, and more. It’s a small but meaningful way to give back, and it speaks volumes about the heart behind the business.
As for the food — I had a plain slice and a chicken Caesar salad, and both were excellent. The pizza had a perfectly thin, crisp crust that held up beautifully — no floppy slices here. The salad was fresh, well-balanced, and flavorful.
Definitely worth checking out. Highly recommend if you're looking for good food with good...
