This is my first time coming here. And the atmosphere is already friendly and welcoming. We live in illinois and went to Texas for a business trip. And now we are driving back. And we stopped by here. They have a bar section available. And a separate section with more tables and space. The colorful chairs are amazing. Probly my favorite part of the atmosphere. I’m waiting on the food but just by the hospitality of this restaurant gives me an idea on the food being great. For the desserts I plan to try the fried Ice cream. Im so intrigued by it. How does it not melt when it’s getting fried. Idk. I Guess we will find out. I love how they have the choco flan I’m also grabbing that. I like the free refills on the soft drinks and tea s. I ordered the flauta dinner. I have a feeling it will be great. It’s also family friendly ! Great place for it being the first time visit. Highly recommend it !

One of THE best restaurant experiences I have ever had. The service was incredible - no waiting on refills or requests. Our server (Erick) was always smiling and seemed genuinely happy to be serving us. The food was amazing, Pollo Cancun (chicken, shrimp, veggies, and rice) without the cheese because I’m lactose intolerant. I received two HUGE pieces of tender, perfectly seasoned chicken, yummy shrimp, and awesome rice (I’m a stickler, rice is my fav part of eating out at Mexican restaurants). The place just felt clean, refreshing, and so so professional and caring. How pleasant for my first time here. Recommending to EVERYONE!

My experience at Ay Caramba was great! The staff was incredibly friendly, the service was very timely, and the food was phenomenal. The chips and salsa hit the spot, and with the addition of their spicy salsa they offer, my bowl hit that perfect blend of flavor and heat. My meal, Mexican Chilaquiles, was very very good. It had great flavor and was the perfect portion size, leaving me full and satisfied. The rice and beans were great as well! Most places serve bland rice and beans as a filler, but their's is great. Give this place a try!

Normally a favorite for my social circle, however, what is motivating me to write this review and leave 4 stars instead of 5 is tonight's generally negative experience. If this was my first and only experience I would probably be leaving a 2 star

In short, the waitress tonight treated my table very poorly. She seemed on edge in general, but also specifically had a grudge against my table, genuinely racked my brain trying to find out why.

The waitress was the most hostile I have ever experienced and as far as I know my table didn't do anything wrong. The only thing I can think of is she seemed to be surprised when we ordered alcohol and almost looked at us suspiciously when we produced IDs showing we were 22. I can't think of any reason she would have thought we were under age, neither of us look particularly young. I did mutter "wrong one" under my breath as I was going through my wallet but that was because I accidentally grabbed my military ID. Maybe she thought "wrong one" meant I almost grabbed a "real" ID instead of my "fake" ID? I don't know, she seemed much more hostile to our table then to the family she was serving near us, which implies we don't something to piss her off, but her maybe thinking we were underage is the best theory I can come up with and that's a reach. I suppose the optimist in me could take it as a compliment lol

Not only was she rude and hostile, but she ignored our table once we were done. She walked past many times to serve the other family, and even didn't see/ignored my attempt at waving her down. After like 10-15 minutes of sitting there when I flagged down another waiter and he talked to her, she told us to just pay up front which is abnormal for this restaurant.

Food was good though, always is, and so are the margaritas

Edit; skimming through other reviews and they talk negatively about a waitress fitting her description, but I also question if at least a couple people leaving those reviews were themselves the problem. That being said, if we give her the absolute benefit of the doubt she is a "no nonsense" waitress who doesn't put up with problem customers who falsely thought I was underaged and going to cause a problem. At worst she is someone who maybe just doesn't have the temperament suited for that job. I get it, I have...

We never seem to get the timing right where we can have lunch during a trip to Kohl’s which is nearby. This Saturday we made sure of it. It’s a small out of the way place but the staff is friendly and you get a lot of food for the price. First off, the chips were fresh and warm. Always a good start for me. Menu had a good selection of dishes that can work with any budget. I tried the Carnitas that came with a healthy portion of rice and beans, as well as a guacamole salad. It came with nice big chunks of pork with little to no fat. Enough for a good burrito tomorrow. I’m pretty picky about Mexican food, so while it was good, the flavor wasn’t great. That’s why it’s a four for me. My wife had the Carne Asada and got a huge steak ( which we will have a great lunch with tomorrow with the leftovers) but kinda the sane thing. While it was good, the taste didn’t make it a five star review for her either. That shouldn’t stop anyone from going here, I know we will next time we’re in town. The staff really make you feel welcomed and the restaurant is clean with a...
