Burger King — Restaurant in Rolla

Most awful experience I've had here at the Rolla location. Was so ecxitied for them to tear down and build new. When reopened it was great then the drug addict looking people started to return. Today went there for my lunch from work. Lady leaned up on counter said would be right with us and the disappeared at the drive thru window. When she came back said hurry before they beep in my ear again. We ordered our food. No ice in the machine. Ok things happen no biggie sitting there wait other customers came and she is yelling across the counter a dining room about how swamped she is. It was us and the 2 other customer that came in that ended up leaving because of the wait. Still waiting when the homeless started coming and one with a dog went to the counter and got free cups even tho we paid for ours but they also brought their dog in and gave it a toy and was running around playing with the toy in the restaurant. Still waiting over 30 minutes, had to get a refund because still no food. Lady there could not do it had to go get the manager out of his car to come do it and then he had to call his manager to do the refund. Finally got the refund didn't seem to phase them at all. I went to eat in with my family of six. There were a number of people in the lobby with their belongings and their dogs. The dogs were very obviously not service animals as they aggressively barked at us. The people had sectioned off a good portion of the tables with their belongings (shopping carts and bags).

The restaurant had only two employees on duty. The gentleman at the register was working hard and as fast as you would expect during a busy evening period. The food prep worker gave the appearance that he was high and had he been moving any slower, he would have been moving backwards.

The final straw for me was that after over forty five minutes with no food, one of the lobby people (who may or may not have been an off-duty employee) went back to the food prep area, presumably to help. Quite frankly, with the smell coming from either the dogs or the people, I was not disposed to eating food prepared in these circumstances so I requested a refund. I did receive my refund, along with several passive-aggressive comments. Honestly, I don't fault the gentleman for the comments, as his frustration was evident and understable.

This Burger King is very inconsistent. Sometimes the food quality is decent and sometimes it isn't. The upkeep of the place needs to be improved. The exterior needs some serious work including a complete paint job and the inside needs to be kept cleaner. The bathroom, at least the men's, is just plain gross. The ice machine and such is sometimes broken. If they let the grass grow tall outside you would think the building was abandoned.

My girlfriend likes Burger King so we just keep going back although she agrees that things could be better. We once picked up Burger King in a nearby town and drove quite a few miles to a park. I joked that the food was warmer from this place even after being in the car for a decently long drive than getting it "fresh" at the Rolla store and she just laughed. I don't expect any fast food to be like a 5 star meal but this place could be better.

The location is convenient and I like the bluegrass musicians that play there. If you use a coupon and it is an OK value but don't expect consistent quality from...
