This restaurant is our weekly dinner-date "go to" restaurant in Rolla. When it comes to Japanese/Korean food, this restaurant is very high-quality, even if you consider it outside of the Rolla restaurant scenario. The place is run by a lovely Korean family, and you are often served by the owners themselves, who are very polite and dedicated to their family business. Prices are very fair, and the sushi fish is always very fresh and nicely prepared. The tempera rolls are also delicious and I bet you not going to find a match anywhere in town. Wife and I have been eating there for more than 2 years and we NEVER had any issues. I read some reviews here of fellas being annoyed by the time it took some of them to get their orders, or even to be seated. Personally, we never had any waiting and our food never takes long to be served. The only thing I can say is that it is a family-run business, so if you want chain-like, super-fast service, you can go to McDonald's or the Waffle House. However, if you want delicious, carefully prepared sushi (in a quiet and relaxing environment), this is the...
Read moreMy family & I dined in the restaurant; the interior is visibly worn but it was clean. The decorations were kinda tacky, with haphazardly placed Christmas ornaments still up 2 weeks after the holiday.
I was a bit disappointed in the serving size of our meals for the cost of them, I expected to get more food for that much money. They were nothing special really. My son had Bi Bim Bop and my husband ordered Chicken Curry - both meals barely had a bite of meat in them, and what they got looked like canned meat. Both meals were lukewarm and almost entirely rice... My husband didn't get full from the amount he was served. I ate a shrimp & veggie tempura platter; the shrimp was delicious with large pieces, but there wasn't much of a variety of different vegetables. We wanted to order the Green Tea Ice Cream but they said that they don't serve that anymore, even though it's still listed on the menu.
Our server was very attentive, polite and fast. I appreciated that but I don't believe I would ever return to this restaurant because I was not impressed with the quality nor quantity...
Read moreThe service was ok and the setting was peaceful which I appreciated. The waiter checked on us but seemed rushed which I didn’t mind personally. The place was pretty empty with only a few other diners at the time.
The food was the issue for me. It looked good visually but the taste was bland and I found myself adding a lot of soy sauce to boost the flavor. Compared to most sushi places I have been across the nation, it ranks pretty low for me on food and roll quality. My girlfriend and I were pretty disappointed since the reviews really got my hopes up.
It makes sense that the reviews are so high seeing that this is in Rolla which is sorta in the middle of no where. It is most likely the best option they have.
I’d still recommend it if in town since the other options may be limited, however don’t expect the quality found in the big cities. This is more on the level of the strip mall Chinese...
