The first time I went by myself. Another couple, and I had a bit of a wait to get seated in the near empty restaurant. It was mid afternoon. The food was good, but pockets of very spicy flavor hit my tongue, as if the sauce wasn't stirred throughly. The provided rolls did not rise properly (more dense than they should have been), though these are a type of Italian roll, not fluffy N. American rolls. I had a longer than expected wait after being seated and getting my drink. My waitress had to leave, and someone else took over. Life happens. I wasn't in a hurry and broke out my Kindle book. Later, I had a wait for my bill as the new waitress forgot about me. She said I was too quiet. As some have mentioned, and as I experienced, the booth I sat at had a bench that was duct tapped across the majority of it. The tape looked clean and was not frayed. The bench I sat on lacked decent padding and became uncomfortable the longer I sat there. This appears to be a mom and pop place. As more people frequent this restaurant, I imagine they'll be able to afford some upgrades to their furniture. My second visit was a couple of days later with a friend. We were seated quickly, though I suggested to my friend that chairs might be more comfortable than a booth. We were served quickly. The rolls were delicious. We each ordered a different entrée and a salad. The pasta dishes were delicious. We weren't sad at all that our salads didn't make an appearance. We were stuffed! My friend took half of hers home. When our server realized her mistake, she was very apologetic and offered to bring the salads out or prepare them to go. She also offered to comp them. We refused. We were fine with our meal as is, and of course, she did remove them from our bill. The servers were polite, and we knew that our patronage was appreciated. At the second visit there was considerable noise of a child coming from what appeared to be the server's area. This seems to be family run. It's nice that accommodation was made for...
Read moreMy husband, toddler, and I decided to try this restaurant. Our initial impression was that the building was nice! There is nice wood paneling and the entryway looked decent.
The service was great. We were seated right away, our waitress was great, kept up with our refills, and was very kind.
When we were seated at our booth, both sides had duct tape on them and there was obvious padding missing. Looking at the menu, the options were appetizers, pasta, salads, and pizza. If you aren't wanting pasta or pizza, I would not suggest dining here. The kids menu was also all pasta. My toddler does not like pasta, so we ended up paying $13.99 for some fried beef ravioli that honestly tasted like it was frozen. I paid $22.99 for shrimp alfredo (which was about 2 scoops of noodles with sauce and 4-5 shrimp) and an additional $1.99 for a salad. We were told that the salad could not be a Caesar salad (even though it is on the menu as a large salad), but they would give us a house salad with Caesar dressing. The salad was only lettuce, carrot strings, and chopped purple cabbage with a dressing on the side. To me, it felt like it came out of a bagged salad mix; no cheese, no other toppings. Very overpriced in my opinion as I can pay $21.29 at Olive Garden for a much larger portion of the same thing with my salad (with toppings!) and bread included. I could tell that the sauce was homemade and it did taste good. We had no complaints on the pasta entrees other than portion size compared to the price.
The worst part of our visit was using the women's restroom before we left. It had a very noticeable smell when I walked in. One of the three stalls was out of order and there was no toilet paper in either available stall. There was a roll of brown paper towels sitting on top of the toilet paper holder. The bathroom was not very clean at all and the trash can next to the toilet was piled high and looked as if it hadn't been emptied in a week. If I had used the restroom before we ate, I probably...
Read moreWe came in around 1pm on a Tuesday and Jaren was our server. He was lovely and very attentive. Unfortunately I've worked at an Italian restaurant that's been open for almost 60 years now so when I came here I had hoped for some authenticity. The Chicken marsala was the thinnest sauce I've ever had, and the portion of chicken wasn't even half a chicken breast so I was a little disappointed. It by default came on Spaghetti which I've never had before but know why places don't generally offer it served that way. None of the sauce as its not thick enough can actually ahere to the noodles. Which was disappointing because the flavor was your standard affair and the mushrooms absorbed all the flavor. The Spaghetti tasted like I was eating it plain and wet. The fettuccine alfredo had a nice creaminess but I'm not sure what they're going for here?? Are we amaricanizing Italian food? If so it was perfect fine! Alfredo just doesn't use heavy cream traditionally. Lastly the manicotti was filled with either a mozzarella cheese stick or straight mozzarella. Manicotti is NOT filled with straight cheese. Maybe the kids manicotti is served differently than the adults but id generally just expect a kids portion of actual manicotti. Not cheese filled manicotti pasta. Tiramissu was very nice though!! Foccocia bread wasn't even foccocia??? It looked like a halfed hogie roll with cheese, oil, and tomato slices on top. Foccocia is a simple, hand made dimpled bread with oil and the toppings are whatever. But it was certainly not hand made and if it was it's extremely upsetting to not be warned at the table what it...
