Today’s update:
We arrived for a late dinner just after 7p. We were seated without asking for preference of a booth- even though the large booths were available and ready.
No one came by to ask if we wanted coffee (I guess there’s a first time for everything). My husband had to ask for coffee... then had to ask for creamer after his coffee arrived. He received creamer on the second try.
The salad was cleared halfway through our entrees. I never got a refill on an unlimited fountain drink.
We sat for at least 15 minutes in an empty restaurant with nothing to do but wait until we could flag down the waitress for our check and boxes. A different waitress was busy filling the jellies and stuff on each table- so she was productive and where she needed to be. But our waitress? My husband saw our waitress talking at the other end of the restaurant and flagged her down when she finally turned around.
The children’s meals were consistently good. I had the chicken a la king. Three biscuits- good value, but a little plain. I added a lot of black pepper, but it didn’t really help.
Review from 2 months ago:
We've visited this restaurant several times, and they've changed the menus (good thing)! I forgot to take pix of the menus, but I have pictures of the food :)
Usually great comfort food! But, lately, the service has been pretty bad. As in the busboy took our coffee cups away without asking if we wanted coffee- literally snuck up and just took them. Then, he never came to refill water or other drinks. Never checked the silverware (we needed another set).
The waitress was a little more attentive, stopping by so we could ask for creamer... later asking if we could get a juice refill. We saw her at other tables, but once they left the section, we didn't see her at all. That was about half or so of our dinner of her MIA.
The comfort food, variety of dishes, and our favoritism of diners gave this review 3 stars. So, it's a hit or miss if you don't care for diners and if you like servers checking...
Read moreAwesome all the way around! They were very busy when we came in on a Sunday morning, around 9:30. We were greeted by a hostess up at the front of the restaurant immediately, she took down our name, and told us it would be about a 10 minute wait. We were actually seated in about 5 minutes, maybe even sooner, so they are very prompt on making sure that the wait isn't too long to get seated at a table. Our server was prompt, and friendly. We got ice waters and coffee right as we sat down, so that was nice. They have a great menu selection. There's definitely something for everyone on it. They also had a nice variety of flavored coffee creamers intermingled in with the traditional half and half cups if that's your jam. We ordered breakfast, and it arrived at our table looking hot and delicious in a reasonably short amount of time, despite the fact that there wasn't one empty table in the entire place. It's a nice, spacious restaurant, that is well staffed, and everyone seems to work very well together, and they all help one another out whenever necessary. Our coffee cups were topped off every few mins without ever having to ask. The food is amazing! The freshly squeezed orange juice...Yummy! We got a lot of food and drink for our money indeed. Prices were comparable to a Denny's restaurant I suppose. The owner even came out to check on us and all the other tables as well. He chatted us up for a bit, and made sure we were all happy and satisfied with everything. That impressed me a lot. An owner who cares whether their customers are enjoying themselves, and personally invites them back again in a friendly, sincere way. What else can I say? This place is pretty awesome! Five stars for sure! Can't wait to go there again the next time I'm...
