Prices weren't all that reasonable, considering the setup of the place. Quality of the food is poor, especially considering the price. It has gotten no better since I was last here, and I would even argue my experience this visit was worst than the last. It was decently clean, but the whole place hasn't been updated since god knows when. Customer service at the front was nonexistent. Do yourself a favor and go to any of the other Mexican restaurants in town. I ordered a burrito and enchilada combo (rice and beans on the side). The burrito I received was half the size that it was in the picture, if that. It had chiles mixed in the beef (which was okay, though not advertised or mentioned in any way). They were sweet, and not a welcome flavor, because there was no warning. Some cheese was on the burrito, too, but that was it. For a burrito combo, the burrito was incredibly disappointing. The enchilada was good, though too salty for my taste. Both the rice and beans were unnecessarily bland. I mean BLAND. Very unpleasant. I don't think I've had worse rice and beans from any of our local restaurants. I had higher hopes for this place after not having a good experience the last time I went. I deeply regret giving them another chance. This experience for nearly nine dollars- plus. Not the best customer service at the front (I'm sure they're a nice person, but a smile wouldn't kill you, darn it). Very bad experience. I will not be...
Read moreThere is only 1 reason why they are getting 3 stars, we love this place we come here every time we are in town and never have a problem. This morning before we headed out of town my husband and I stopped for their amazing breakfast burritos, we ordered 2 steak breakfast burritos and we waited there for the food which is always fresh! But today the lady at the front counter called out 2 bacon burritos and we didn’t move because we ordered steak, she came back over and said you’re two bacon breakfast burritos are ready and I told her we didn’t order bacon we ordered steak and she got an attitude. For one when you are in customer service you should never get an attitude with your customers, she kept saying well I heard bacon. Well that’s not what we said, they remade them which I appreciate but come on really? You’re going to get an attitude with a customer when you misheard them and DIDNT verify with said customer that’s what they said. When you work in a restaurant you should verify the order back to the customer to make sure you got it correct. I mean I understand mistakes happen but what bothered us was the attitude we received because of her mishearing...

Under new management since I was last there pre-covid. The restaurant decor is still a bit tired, but it was much cleaner. I ordered a carne asada burrito and I got a flour tortilla filled with carne asada, but no rice, beans, or pico di gallo. I didn’t know you had to specify “with everything”. The pure meat burrito was weird. Also the salsas tasted like they were made from canned goods, not from scratch. I miss the old Romulitos.
Original post: Found this place traveling to Portland. It's the real thing, not American-Mexican. Decor a little tired and dirty. I had the steak breakfast burrito and my companion had the machaca breakfast burrito. Potatoes, eggs, meat and cheese. Delicious fresh-tasting flavor, NO grease, very cheap. We ate half and took the rest home and reheated it for dinner - was even better the second time. We have lots of good taquerias in Portland, but I sure wish this place was in Portland!...
