I've searched for a long time for a place with live and fresh seafood. This place has a good selection of live fish, crab and shellfish. The fish on ice tastes fresh. The guys helping out are nice and helped my wife n I with a couple of questions. You will pay a little more, but cmon, where are you going find another place like this near El Monte? It closes early and it gets packed near closing. We got a snapper and rock fish n periwinkles. All was devoured. Next time I'm grabbing crab n lobster. N oysters. And more periwinkles. And the place is CLEAN, clean, clean.

The guys helping out are nice and helped my wife n I with a couple of questions. You will pay a little more, but cmon, where are you going find another place like this near El Monte? Rude people!!!

Today I went there for fish. I know that ID is required to use credit card. But my passport was sent for Canada VISA, so I brought my Chinese driver license. It clearly show my name in Chinese and my photo. OMG, can you believe that the first response of the rude lady is to say "I am not a Chinese. I do not know Chinese spell" in such a fluent Chinese!!! I asked her "Does any one in your market know Chinese spell?" She said "no".

In such a market with 8 or 9 employees, who speak Chinese everyday (I've never heard they spoke English), most customers they serve are Chinese, even the price tags are in Chinese, but they all don't know Chinese spell!!! Her rude attitude told me that she did not like me because I am Chinese and showed my Chinese ID.

If you are American, congratulations, maybe they will be happy to serve you (according to the previous reviews maybe not). If you are Chinese, just go away and choose...

We have been here several times, but lately the seafood quality has gone down. The meat of the fish taste old and mushy, we bought snail meat for $18.00 and it never got soft. It was very hard after a long time cooking. The black shells meat we bought tasted really bad and it smells bad. Also the crabs they have in the tank does not have anything to eat inside. We also bought shrimp, and they were bad we got sick vomiting and stomach ache. Everything is very expensive, we spend $60.00 and everything went to the trash. So disappointing.
