I heard a lot of good things about this place, tried some tacos from their truck for an event, and then again quite a few years back when they had just opened in Roseville. The interior has a pretty cool vibe to it and the staff are friendly.
Sadly, despite good intentions I am not a fan. I've seen this guy on the Food Network show "Chopped" and he is supposed to really do tacos! Maybe it differs per location but I am not going back after having dried out, not very flavorful, birria tacos that comes without the cup of consume for some reason if you order the combo (chips & salsa). It would have to be a REALLY amazing cup of consume to improve the birria that much.
I also tried the special of the day, the "chicken flautas" and again the seasoning can be described as not so special. It was crunchy - so it had that going for it.
It is possible that I keep ordering items that aren't their specialty, but for trying at least four different items (cochinita pibil, torta, chicken flautas, and birria tacos) on the last two visits — it's been a miss every...
Read moreI wanted to update my review based off of my most recent experiences here. As I have resided in the area for two years, I have felt the quality of the food and service has decreased. The spice level and taste has completely changed and the customer service satisfaction has diminished. I have continually ordered fish and carne asada tacos here many times, but each time, they were either too spicy to eat or the flavor was not the same. Several times my order was incorrect, forgotten or not started when arriving and curbside pickup during the pandemic has been nonexistent. I called the restaurant and was also placed on hold for 15 minutes for an order placed in advance as well. The wait time (despite ordering online in advance) has increased dramatically over the years. Sadly, I will no longer be frequenting or purchasing from this restaurant as I have been extremely dissatisfied with the taste, quality of service, and wait times...
Read moreI like tacos. You like tacos. If you don't have tacos, you're just counting the time until you can have tacos.
Chando's makes bomb-tastic "street" tacos. Basically 4" tortillas stuffed with nom. I like the grilled tilapia ones, but all their tacos are really good - and not just because they're tacos. They also have a lot of other stuff on the menu, including things I've never heard of, and I'm sure I'll get around to trying them some day.
Price-wise, as of writing, three tacos and a soda will set you back about $8. Which is comparable to Taco Bell pricing, except the food is actually edible
Four stars because there's really not enough seating, and if you show up at 12:05, the line is to the door (because they have really good tacos). This is heavily mitigated by a rather nice phone app that allows you to order (and pay) ahead. Just make sure you tell the person at the pick-up counter, because that's...
