Avoid Keys Cafe in Roseville — Especially If You Value Basic Hygiene and Respectful Service. I typically go to Marty’s Deli for breakfast, but since they were closed on Easter, I decided to try something new. Big mistake. I ordered takeout from Keys Cafe in Roseville and was disgusted to find two long black hairs in my food. Completely unacceptable — I had to throw the entire meal away, and unfortunately, my family ended up without breakfast on Easter morning. When I called to report the issue, the manager casually brushed it off by saying, “Well, that’s the cook’s hair but they’re wearing a hairnet, which is all that’s required. These things happen.” No apology. No accountability. Just a dismissive shrug. He vaguely offered to mail a gift card, but never asked for my name or address. So I drove back to the restaurant with the food in hand, showed them the hair (and my bald head to make it crystal clear it wasn’t mine), and requested a refund. Instead, I was handed a couple of discount coupons — nowhere near the value of the meal I paid for but couldn’t eat. To make matters worse, when I first picked up the order, staff mistook me for a DoorDash driver and treated me like an inconvenience. Between the unsanitary food, the dismissive attitude, and the complete lack of customer service, this was a terrible experience from start to finish. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place.

Family friendly cozy, comfortable, neighborhood, restaurant, where you're welcome to get a cup of joe and sit a spell, chew the fat, plan the future, just enjoy one another's company. The kind of place you want to celebrate with family the small pleasures of life. The kind of place you want to have your first date in. Keys gives you quality food that looks good, appetizing and fun. I have never had more beautifully fun prepared cup of hot chocolate probably in my life. It was the best way to chase away the blues on a cloudy, rainy stormy day. Whipped cream piled high drizzled with chocolate syrup decadently cascading down the sides of the cup to pool in the mini marshmello laden saucer. It was truly a work of culinary art. It was even more fun to eat and drink it. Not for children under 8 yo and definitely do not try this at home. We happily made a sticky mess by the time we were done.

Maybe the 3rd time will be perfect! This critic is between my 1st & 2nd visit. The 1st visit deserved a 4 Star. Service was friendly & receptive. Food looked great although they ran out of few items homemade items my friend wanted. We ordered desserts but never got it. 2nd visit was with my wife. I was impressed the 1st time I thought my wife would like it also. Ordered the combo meal (tuna salad sandwich with chili & two guys breakfast. Chili was a little watery but still good. Food the most part food was great! My wife asked for dessert but never got it. Customer service was great again. I guess you have to be a regular to know what to expect. Looks like the desserts have to be ordered as take out only becuz that happened twice. I would’ve wanted wheat bread on my tuna salad but was not offered. I would go again but this time have more control of my food. Service is always friendly!!

I have gone to Keys for my entire life, its always been a staple in my family when we are looking for a place to get breakfast. That being said, this past Sunday (10/23) I had an extremely sour experience that has me rethinking giving my business anymore. I ordered takeout to pick up. I ordered around 10:38 I believe through ChowNow, and the app stated my order would be ready at 11:14. We waited for 11:14 to roll around and my order stated it was ready for pickup. When I walked in and went up to the front counter to ask about my order, I was informed by the girl behind the counter that there was no such order under that name. Another girl behind the counter also confirmed they had no order under that name. I ran back to the car to grab my phone to show that I had confirmation of my order and showed it to an older lady who was now behind the counter when I walked back in. She said something to one of the other girls I had originally talked to and then went back out to start seating people. I stood there for another 15 minutes or so without any acknowledgment and despite standing in front of the counter to just try and find out if I had food there or not, I was being passed up by every employee so they could ring out other customers orders as they tried to leave. My husband ended up eventually coming in and they quickly acknowledged him and asked how they could help him, and he repeated my same story and I showed them my phone again and also that they had already charged me fo the food. Again the girl behind the counter said there was no order under that name and then proceeded to tell us that their kitchen had gotten backed up and there were takeout orders they had been unable to fulfill. So they are charging for orders they cannot take? Why not just shut down the ability to order online? She then proceeded to tell us "It might be back there somewhere, or we can try to make it now or we can give you a refund" I obviously said if the food was available we would take it as we were hungry and had already been waiting so long. She then stated that no our food was not made but they could try to make it at that point and I did not wish to wait any longer so it was only at that point that she got a manager who was able to refund our order and we walked out having an hour of our day wasted and nothing to eat. I understand being busy, I would have even understood if they had told me the first time I spoke to them if they had actually communicated to me what was happening, but leaving a customer standing around for 20 minutes without acknowledging them and blatently ignoring them is...

Highlights: Excellent Customer Service, Family Feel, Great Pricing, Great Products, Plenty Of Parking, Wheelchair Accessible

Keys Cafe & Bakery is well known in my community for having a wide variety of meal options, large portions and a home cooked taste.

We were greeted by Tammy, the best server I have ever experienced in this lifetime.

I ordered the Chicken Wild Rice Soup, which has been a recent craving of mine and NO OTHER location chain in Minnesota makes it as good as the Roseville location.

I also ordered the meatloaf dinner, which wasn't my favorite, but I could see how it's an award-winning meatloaf and one of their best sellers. Because I did not enjoy the meatloaf dinner, Tammy removed it from our bill, and I greatly appreciate that.

There was a gnat that landed on my peas (that were cold when they arrived to the table) and crawled thru them which was, disgusting to say the least and it made me paranoid about the remaining food we had on the table. I didn't mention it but just asked Tammy to remove the plate from our presence.

My friend ordered the Avocado Burger with waffle fries and they def enjoyed their meal, though they mentioned they wished the presentation was more "stacked" for the $17 price.

I absolutely love Keys and all they have to offer. From T-Shirts & Sweatshirts to frozen take and bakes, an amazing bakery and wide menu, this is such a great place to meat and enjoy friends and family, or just a quiet meal alone.

The staff is phenomenal. Warm greetings, smiles and a family feel. I love how it feels like everyone is enjoying their work and doing it with love.

Very seldomly do I feel like they fall short, which is why I didn't complain. This was the first time I've ever had a flawed experience with Keys.

Tammy, if you ever get the chance to see this review, we send prayers to you and your family. May God continue to bless your sweet mother with good health, and I pray that you all have the chance to celebrate her birthday in February. 83 is a big deal! Thanks for sharing with us and providing such a phenomenal experience. Your kindness, professionalism and joyous heart was the highlight of my day. Thanks for being who you are and putting a genuine effort into ensuring a quality experience while dining.

Keys Cafe in Roseville has a very special place in my heart. Even with the mishaps of my last visit, 10/10 I will...

3rd Update: Well, they did it again. They sent me an "order online" coupon and I used it. I specifically asked for a Turkey burger (again) which was a choice you were required to make. I picked it up trusting that they wouldn't mess up again (I know, I should have checked the bag before leaving the restaurant but really, they should get the orders right, it is their business). I was very disappointed to find they gave me a beef burger (I don't eat beef) so tater tots were my meal that night. I wrote to the manager showing my order and the ticket that was on the food. She acknowledged they made another error and said she would speak to them (again) and send me a gift certificate. Maybe she spoke to them but I never got anything. It doesn't matter as I'm afraid to order from them for pickup anymore. By the way, the "gift certificate" for the previous mistake was $5. Just pointing out that most meals there cost between $15-$20 without tax, tip or service charge. Such a disappointment.

Update: I reached out to the manager again and she sent me an email saying they would like to send me a gift card, which they mailed to me. I am so happy to report that Keys is back on my "go to" list of restaurants. Thanks Frankie!

Update: Four weeks ago they responded and told me to contact them. I sent an email to the address they provided. No response after 4 weeks. Someone in a volunteer group was just asking about places in the neighborhood and I told them about my experience. Another group of people who won’t be going to Keys.

I’m so sad to write this. I love the food at Keys, however, I had a pretty bad experience there recently. After a long day at work, I called in an order for a Turkey Burger to go. They took the order and I went to pick it up. I went in and gave them my name then sat and waited. After about 10 minutes, the young guy who took the order came over to tell me they were out of turkey burgers. They didn’t check while I was on the phone. They didn’t check after and call me back. They didn’t even check when I got there. They waited until the cook was going to start the order and then told me they were out. It was so disappointing. I think the kitchen staff should know their inventory. They offered me a regular burger but I don’t eat beef. Anyway, I left hungry and upset. Keys is better than this. I won’t be going back...
