Leo's Kitchen in Roseville truly impressed with its standout dishes and welcoming atmosphere. The wonton soup was a definite highlight, boasting a remarkably flavorful and well-seasoned broth. The delicate ribbons of egg flower added a lovely touch of richness and visual appeal. It’s the kind of soup you could happily savor bowl after bowl.
The orange chicken proved to be a delightful surprise. The sauce struck a perfect balance of sweet and tangy, coating generously sized pieces of chicken that maintained a satisfying crispness. Its mild spice level makes it an accessible and enjoyable option for everyone at the table, perfect for sharing (or maybe not, as it’s quite tempting to keep it all to yourself!).
The teriyaki chicken offered a different but equally pleasing experience. The chicken was wonderfully tender, and the sauce, while leaning towards a richer, almost hoisin-like profile rather than a traditional teriyaki, was absolutely delicious. It provided a lovely depth of flavor that paired perfectly with the succulent chicken.
The chow mein noodles were also packed with great flavor. While I personally would have enjoyed a touch more of that distinct "wok hei" or smoky sear, the overall taste was fantastic, and I'm already planning a return visit to try it again.
Now, let's talk about the potstickers – these are a must-try! Forget those small, delicate versions; Leo's Kitchen serves up generously sized potstickers akin to dim sum dumplings. The pork filling was incredibly satisfying and flavorful. They were so good, they honestly didn't even need any sauce, but the accompanying dipping sauce was a tasty complement.
Beyond the exceptional food, the service was genuinely pleasant, and the restaurant itself was impeccably clean, creating a comfortable and inviting dining environment. When you combine delicious and well-prepared food with attentive service and a spotless setting, it’s hard to ask for anything more. Leo's Kitchen has certainly earned a spot on my list of favorite local eateries, and I highly recommend...
Read moreI would give this no stars, if possible. We spent over $80 on Christmas as first time customers. We ordered sesame chicken, orange chicken, vegetable egg fu yung, crabmeat wontons, potstickers, egg rolls, pork fried rice and pork chow mein. Although the wontons and potstickers we're edible, you had to dig deep through extra thick dough to find the mostly bland center and ignore the taste of old oil. Both chicken entrees were dry and tasteless. To be honest, other than the sesame seeds, you couldn't tell the two dishes apart. The rice and noodles were tasteless. Seriously, there were virtually no seasonings on either dishes. We started a family tradition at Christmas to order Chinese food and watch a Christmas movie instead of spending all day in the kitchen cooking and cleaning. We, the four of us, we're looking forward to our dinner and this was a complete disappointment!!! In addition, our 2 daughters are gluten free due to allergies and allow themselves this one gluttonous meal once a year and it was all for nothing. By the way, we drove from Auburn down to Roseville in hopes of scoring delicious Chinese food that we can't get locally, especially based on their Google rating of 4.2 and their Facebook rating of 4.6. This was clearly not the case. Going to Panda Express would have been 100 times better and cheaper!!! I highly recommend reconsidering eating here, at least for takeout. Maybe eating in makes a difference or not going on Christmas Day. Either way, we...
Read moreBest Chinese food in the area, hands down. We've been faithful customers of Leo's for at least 13 years now, and they have maintained their standards for food quality, cleanliness, and customer service throughout the years. They have great lunch and dinner specials and give you very generous portions. They make their dumplings (the wonton soup ones and the potstickers) in house from scratch. Definitely try their pork potstickers - they are nothing like the pre-made, frozen and reheated ones you get in every other Chinese restaurant. No, Leo's potstickers are made in-house. They are big and plump, full of delicious stuffing of ground pork and vegetables, soft and chewy on one side and perfectly crispy on the other. They will warn you that they take a few extra minutes to steam and fry up, but it's totally worth waiting for. They come with savory sauce that balances the flavors perfectly. They are a "must" order on our every visit. Other staples are also excellent: Orange chicken, Lemon chicken, General's chicken, Crispy beef, Moo Shu chicken, Walnut shrimp (this one is awesome), Green bean chicken, etc. Soups are great as well, especially on those cold days. Love their wonton and egg flowers soups. The owners are always very friendly and polite and take care of their customers. We don't live close by anymore, but still take extra time to drive out to eat here. They survived the pandemic when so many places around closed down. We are going to continue to...
