Pushkins Bakery and Cafe. Yo check what is all about, my family and I decided to observe and review... Family Edition which is very rare!
Noticing first off that in the mid-morning on a sunny Roseville Roseville on a Saturday that the Outdoor seating area was populated at nearly full capacity of patrons having their meals and Drinks enjoying the weather. We go inside, there are just as much capacity inside too with a couple of seating areas that were open near the windows near where the Door leading to the outside dining area as most of the occupied inside seating were all taken.
The Ambiance- inside looks very Modern open ceiling plan. Also the Bakery window and the contents were fabulous looking. So good looking indeed, that the patrons in front of us was holding up the ordering line by staying in front of the bakery window what seemed like forever. It was mentioned from one of my loved-one's that "the pastry Counter should have samples suspended in an above case so that people won't hold up the line and the people in front of us held us there for longer time than we wanted.
We finally place our orders, the Menu mostly consisted of Vegan options with a couple of non vegan items. We'll try, without bias and make our judgements accordingly. We ordered 4 breakfast items and I got a Lunch sandwhich (they are for the most part a La carte selections, no combo style selections that we can see. I asked if the restuarant offers a Military or Veterans Discount. The reply was NO. With our other items for the 5 of us included drinks (they service beverages in Glass cups rather than paper /plastic) had NO free refills on drinks other than water, Quiche, 2- Simple Waffles, a Breakfast Sausage and Egg) and by Turkey Bacon Sandwich along with some patries that everyone ordered, one that included my selection- Lemon Poppy Muffin. The Price point added up quickly and the total came to above $70 for the Five of us. As $70 could probably be spent in more substantial amount of food from other venues like Texas Roadhouse or similar places to that to get more bang for your buck.
So back to the review. The only unoccupied seating area was in front of the window area which was very bright, sunny and HOT. This includes the Table, the chairs and the family. At the location of the Sun was high and the uncovered Window had us (a party of Five) sweating to wait for our food. The staff brought our orders in real Dishware and glass of drinks as mentioned before. I think this is why it must be the higher prices that we would find in other Bakery and Cafes is because of this overhead.
The Food Review, the Breakfast Sausage Sandwich had what was described to me had Fake Egg. The Simple Waffes were served with a ramincan if Butter and one with warm Maple Syrup (it was described to me as too soft and mushy (they had better) and as a result, they were not completely consumed. The Quiche was order along with a side salad. The presentation of that dish looked delicious and awesome. As that dish was being eaten, apparently being torn apart with components beging eaten.
My Turkey Bacon Bacon sandwhich was a nice look and was presented by being cut in half. I unwrap the two ends and see the full length which appeared to be about 5 inches. The Bread, crusty and had a different taste. I asked one of the many employees going back & forth serving the eating areas who said this sandwich bread is a Grain bread. The Turkey and Bacon did it's job. The Bacon was think cut, very real and cooked properly how Bacon should be. I won't forget that crunch and the chew. Not like the Fake 'n Bacon like from Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts or Noah's Bagel.
On with the review. The Lettuce was crunchy and very Green. The Tomato and the Peperccini did their job is providing the other flavors. The sandwich also was accompanied by Green Dressing, (I asked what it was and told it is an oil, Basil and Cilantro vinaigrette). It had a string basil flavor which gave the sandwich it's zing and zest (a little Herb heat. The Turkey...
ย ย ย Read morePushkin's Bakery & Cafe: A Gluten-Free Haven in Roseville : As someone who's gluten-sensitive, I've tried a lot of places to find great meals that fit my diet. I'm really excited to tell you about Pushkin's Gluten-Free Bakery & Cafe in Roseville. This place is a real standout for anyone who needs to avoid gluten.
Walking into Pushkin's, you can forget about the hassle of finding gluten-free options. Everything here is safe to eat, which is awesome. And for someone like me, who also can't have milk, tomatoes, and corn, it feels like a safe haven. They even have great vegan choices, and the minimal use of corn by-products is a thoughtful consideration that does not go unnoticed. And with the detailed menu, I can easily steer clear of the tomato.
Now, let's talk about their desserts โ they're amazing! They have everything from delicious berry cobbler to awesome chocolate cupcakes (I can't remember the exact name, but they taste incredible). There's also brownies, cookies, scones, banana bread, zucchini bread, morning bun, cinnamon buns โ you name it. It's hard to pick just one thing, and I usually end up taking a bunch home. No self control when I walk into Pushkinโs ๐ ๐
Their savory food is just as good. I love their waffles and berries, and I love their chicken tenders with fries, and so does my partner, who doesn't have any food allergies. That shows how good their food is for everyone.
While my experience at the Pushkin's in downtown Sacramento was less than stellar. The Roseville cafe reminds me of the great gluten-free food I had in Vienna, Austria. I think they should add a gluten-free strudel to their menu โ that would be cool.
I also have to mention how great the service is at Pushkin's. The staff are super friendly and fast, even when it's busy. I was impressed by how quickly I could get my food and get back home, even though I live a bit far away.
In short, Pushkin's Gluten-Free Bakery & Cafe in Roseville is a fantastic place for anyone, whether you need gluten-free food or just love good eats. It's perfect for any meal or order for a special occasion. I'm really hoping they open another one in Folsom soon!
To sum it up, Pushkin's isn't just a bakery and cafe. It's a place where great taste, inclusivity, and awesome cooking come together. Definitely worth checking out, no matter what...
ย ย ย Read moreI have never gone to Pushkin's Bakery before. I have always heard of it, just never have gone until now. I was kindly treated by my friends who wanted to take me to the one in Roseville. As I walked in and it seemed nice and clean. The format was like a Dos Coyote's. They graciously took our order, even with special accommodations (I can't have regular cheese). They even offered other alternatives they had. Very polite, and attentive. As time went on while waiting for the food, a worker swept the floor to clean up the mess on the floor. Then 5 minutes later another worker came to sweep the very same spot that was already cleaned. ๐ค I thought, oh okay they like their store clean. So the food eventually arrived, the fries were ice cold and the chicken sandwich was lukewarm. I was being treated, so I'm not going to make any fuss. But my friend commented, that he guessed they would like to clean more than pay attention to food orders. He told the worker the fries were cold. She apologized and brought out a fresh bowl of hot French fries, we thanked her for doing so. The food was delicious and the baked goods looked delicious too. But one thing I do wish to comment on my paragraph, the store workers like to close shop early. It was 10 minutes before closing, I can understand that they want to get out of there. But they took the water jugs, forks, and other items customers may need. I think they try to close the shop a little too early in Roseville. I have worked with the public myself. Even if the time came to close, we still helped the customers and they got what they needed and left happily. So if you decide to go, hopefully you will have a lot better experience than...
