I am no stranger to "University of Beer" as I have been to their Rocklin location (on Lonetree Blvd) as well as their Midtown Sacramento location (16th St). This takes me to an all-new location in Roseville (that opened in November 2021) which is on the corner of Eureka Rd & Lead Hill Blvd. To those of you that remember, this is where Broderick Roadhouse once stood and prior to that, it was a Chili's for many years. I am hoping that this brand new location will be here to stay for awhile as I've always been a huge fan of their food and their tasty iced cold beers.

I met up with a buddy of mine on the evening of Thursday 1/13/2022 at around 6:30pm. Since this is a standalone restaurant without any neighboring businesses nearby, parking was quite simple to find. The exterior all in itself is rather interesting as there are several dog statues perched up on beer barrels. Additionally, there is a large "UOB" sign that should attract some of the people driving by on Eureka Rd.

The inside is also very inviting as this location allows about twice the amount of seating as the Rocklin location. You will also find a very large wall display of what resembles beer hops complete with the "UOB" initials as well as several booths, plenty of high chairs/seating, a cool vintage motorcycle, and signs directing you to some of Sacramento's own breweries. And of course for this place being a borderline sports bar, there are several TV's for viewing to watch your favorite sports team. All of this is executed very well as the interior designers really came up with some creative ideas.

Now onto the food.. Since I've tried several of their popular food items at the other locations, I already had a general idea of what I wanted. I went with an order of their "Pulled Pork Sliders" (for $14.50). This consisted of 4 sliders total complete with beer-braised BBQ pulled pork, pickled red onions, garlic Aioli, and coleslaw on sweet rolls. I also went with a side of "Beer Battered Fries" (for $6.50). And to drink, I tried two different craft beers; the first was a pint of their "Džungle Pilsner" from the King Cong Brewing Company and the second was "Farmer's Light" from the Farmers Brewing Company.

Our beers arrive in less than 3 minutes while our food comes just a few minutes later. One major pro of this place is the service as our waiter always checked up on us while refilling our waters. I was also quite impressed with my beer choices as they were crisp, cold, and delicious. The sliders also hit a home run for me as there was a ton of meat inside which paired up beautifully with the crisp coleslaw and warm sweet rolls. And just the overall vibe of this place really entices you to come back for a future visit.

Overall, the "University of Beer" in Roseville received a well-deserved five-star rating as it is better than the other two locations I have been to. Service was top notch, location is ideal and spacious, and prices are reasonable. And as I mentioned their food is delicious; my recommendations are to try their "Thai Lettuce Cups", "Loaded Nachos", "Boneless Wings", and many of their signature burgers. And with an ever-changing beer menu, I am sure there will be something...

If you don't mind spending $60 for a date, this is a good spot. Each pint of beer is $9 and the nachos were $17 for a medium size plate. Was it worth it?!? Yes it was. I just wouldn't go to this spot often. We went for the live music, but all the TVs in the place were distracting from the music. If you go for live music on Saturday nights from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., I would recommend being seated close to the stage. It might be worth your wild to go on Tuesday, which is kids eat free all day. Or on Saturday and Sunday from open to 5:00 p.m., were dogs eat free. The University of beer also has karaoke night on Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. and trivia night on Wednesdays at 8:00 pm. They are known for offering a wide assortment of craft beer on tap. You are only allowed two samples per guest, so choose your beer wisely. Our waiter was amazing and attentive. He allowed us privacy when it was needed, yet he was there when we wanted refills. I would recommend the live music be outdoors when weather is permitted. Also, to have more reasonably priced happy hour specials. IG:...

My kids actually chose this place for my birthday dinner! I was a little skeptical because of the name of the restaurant and the fact that we were bringing our young grandkids. All I could envision was a crowded bar/pub type place that catered to the college crowd. Was I ever wrong! It wasn't too crowded, and we were able to get right in, no wait. Our large party was seated at a table plenty big enough to accommodate us comfortably. The menu was diverse enough so that it had something for everyone, including a kids menu. Our drinks were delivered promptly, and our food order followed shortly afterward. We ordered burgers, the Ribeye French Dip, Cali Chicken Sandwich, and other things, along with several appetizers. I highly recommend the Ribeye French Dip. Super flavorful and tender (even when I had to reheat the last half the next day). Service was over the top good, with friendly staff who made great suggestions. There was even live music that was actually entertaining.

We've added University of Beer to our list of fun places to go. Don't be afraid of...

I absolutely love this place. I was driving back from a work trip and needed a place to do a little bit of work. Immediately I thought of university of beer. It was on my way home, the happy hour is available at all of the tables, which was very cool, and the food is amazing. When I arrived, the man that greeted me at the door asked if it was just me. I told him that I needed to do a couple hours of work and asked if he could tuck me into a back corner. He responded with enthusiasm. He found a great little corner booth where I was able to work. He said this is kind of private and you have plenty of space. I had an awesome server who checked in with me and provided commentary on the items that I ordered in a positive way. She made sure that I had everything I needed, but also didn’t check on the too often so I was actually able to get it done.
