My boyfriend and I saw this place on instagram after someone did a food review on it and decided to give it a try for the first time. The food did look amazing on the video I will say that. Well let me first start off by saying when we ordered our food, not only did we feel rushed to place our order by the waitress but the food looked absolutely NOTHING like the food on the video and neither did it taste good. Maybe it was because of the amount of people in the restaurant but either way it was a horrible experience. I ordered an omelette with red potatoes and pancakes, and because the catfish fillet looked really good on the food review video, I decided to also give it a try. When the food was brought out to us, there was barely any room for all of the dishes due to the small table we were sat at, so I simply asked the female waitress if I could get a smaller plate for my catfish so that I could have a little wiggle room. Instead of her going to do that, she suggested that I take my pancakes and just put it on the plate with the catfish. So guess what happened, my pancakes now tasted like fish grease! The red potatoes were super hard and on top of all of this, when I asked the female waitress if I could get tarter sauce she bluntly cut me off and told me that her name was “Angie”! I found this to be VERY RUDE because I not once asked her, her name and that’s because I didn’t care to know, I just wanted tarter sauce so I could try my fish. I’m assuming that maybe she was becoming overwhelmed with everyone’s order but still, as a customer I should NOT know that you’re having a bad day! I was eager to try this place just to be let down by not only the food but most importantly the customer service!! It was awful and I will never go back! There was a male waiter and I will say that he was very polite but “Angie” was VERY RUDE! I give this place a thumbs...
Read moreThis place has great service and used to be my 2nd choice for a favorite breakfast spot early morning hideaway. I've even sent group loads of church people on a Sunday to this restaurant. However one day, I misplaced my card after eating there so I called the restaurant and asked about my card which they said they didn't locate. I searched more and then called the store back and asked the manager to double check with the girl who handled my check the answer remained they didn't have it. I let it go and requested a new card considering I am a regular face in her restaurant, the card was locked, and ive never had a problem with their services... so I was thinking maybe I dropped it. I also remember stating on the phone I was not accusing the young lady of stealing but I still don't have my card I just want to double check. The next time I decided to eat there the owner refused to serve me and asked me never to return to her restaurant. She quoted "I don't appreciate you accusing my staff of stealing your card. That was my little niece you accused". On my walk out she kept repeating"that's my niece I don't appreciate you". I left the restaurant no response and peacefully out of respect for the owner and lack of time for drama but for what it's worth if a patron lost something they shouldn't be penalized for backtracking even if they do ask you more than once. That person lost something important. Stating the fact of her being your niece made no point at all. That's YOUR niece I don't know her or you outside of service at your restaurant. At the end of day it's business for me. Aside from that I've never had anything but good vibes and a peaceful...

I love small comfortable “Mom&Pop” restaurants. Thank goodness that I don’t live closer because I would be here everyday! Lol! I’ve only had breakfast here because, that’s when I am working in the area. Angie appears genuine. She is warm, kind, and welcoming. She’s pretty too! Lol! I never had to wait long. Even when it is busy. The food is pretty good. Even when I try to keep it simple because of my health conditions and healthier eating choices.
Angie’s choice of music is perfect. Not because it’s what I like. I like most music. I have a digital library of more than 3k songs of different genre. The music is good because the sound industry in and around Chicago. i.e. The Jackson5. It adds nostalgia to the atmosphere. The Jackson family house is not far from here. Minutes up the street.
I never feel like I’m rushed. The staff is very attentive amongst the busyness. The prices are fair. The service is great and friendly. I rarely give five stars because I believe there is always room for improvement in everything made.
Don’t forget to tip!! It’s a gesture to their services provided. ENJOY!!
Thank you Angie and...
