Grew up on Harold’s, so I know the real taste. This ain’t it. Chicken came out bland and off—mild sauce couldn’t save it.

Big red flag: they’re dropping piping-hot, greasy food straight into a polystyrene (Styrofoam) clamshell and closing the lid. That traps steam (soggy fries/chicken) and hot oil on foam isn’t food-safe—polystyrene isn’t for hot, oily food and it’s not microwave-safe. I’m not eating that.

Also—during my visit there was not one single B.L.K. person on the line or at the register. Not one. For a brand born in our culture, that matters.

Bottom line: don’t spend here. When this spot gets replaced, let’s get a real Harold’s back—run by our people, seasoned right, and...

The fried chicken and fries was excellent. The chicken itself is easily like a 7.5 or 8/10. The establishment itself is a little run down looking. I would expect this for it's location and sometimes I find that to be a good sign that the food will be good. The thing that seriously disappointed me was that I ordered mac and cheese and it was literally Kraft mac and cheese from the box. The mac was room temperature and I found a hair in it and it looked like a pubic hair. The cashier was very nice.
