I was on vacation with friends and came across Beijing resturant. My first impression is that this is not the type of chinese food that i am accustomed to in Los Angeles. We come from the land of the abundance and choices that exceeds most foodies expectation. There was 3 of us and we all got a poke at the menu, general tso's chicken, happy family and orange chicken. Well, to our surprise there was enough food to feed 3 more of us. The quality and freshness is beyond what we were expecting. Although the style of food is more fitting for more western palate, We all agreed that it's tasty and enough to feed a family.
The only things that was not appealing is the interior and the service. Like i mentioned before, we didn't expect much, but we got more than what we paid for. We just thought we would grab a bite, check out the space museums and hit the road again. Definitely worth a try if you are in the neighborhood or visiting roswell, looking for...
Read moreWhen in Roswell on a Sunday afternoon there is not many choices for vegetarian food but one - Beijing Restaurant. I thought that place had a dine in so was confused when the front door was closed after calling and being told that place is in deed open. I ended up walking to the drive through & was greeted w a huge smile & giggle from the sweetest woman. She was so giggly & genuine it immediately put a smile on my face. I ordered the veggie delight & partner ordered shrimp something. We parked in the back behind a tree & she brought the food to us within 10 minutes. Both dishes looked the same which was rice, broccoli, onions & mushrooms but his had shrimp but the amount was ginormous, I mean it felt like I had 3 lbs of food on my lap. Food was piping hot & delicious.
Yes the exterior of the place can make you think that it has been closed for decades but do not let that steal you off from a wonderful meal & super sweet...
Read moreI tried the restaurant because of the overall rating. The restaurant did not have anybody there when I went in at 8:00 p.m. but I figured that it was because of the time. I wanted noodles tonight so I ordered the lo mein. I ordered it with chicken and shrimp. When I got the box, it was loaded down fairly heavily. The flavor of the noodles was fine, but the chicken really had no flavor. The shrimp was okay but on the whole, this was a little bit more of a disappointment. There are better places to get Chinese food in Roswell. The restaurant can use a remodel, and some...
