I was in Monday night for an uber eats pick up order. I told the name of customer & the girl (her name tag said Ale) walked away & was packing food in boxes, didnt say a word. They were very busy & I saw 6 employees all working hard. After waiting about 10 minutes I asked Ale was there something they were waiting on. She replied "orange chicken". About 5 more minutes later I hear a girl cooking shout out orange chicken & pass a big bowl over. Ale scooped out a tiny amount out of the old bowl & put it on top the new & then exchanged bowls. It then took about another 5 minutes for her to get the full order packed & hand to me. It was a family order of multiple items in a box with a carry handle, it was very heavy & easily could've busted through the bottom so I made sure to hold it from the bottom & when I finally got it to the customer told them to be careful & do the same as I was handing it over. When Ale gave me the order she said Donovan which was the name on it & I asked is the powerade bottle they ordered in there?! Ale then looks at the receipt & then hands me the drink! No sorry about that or anything. However the man running the register had apologized for the wait while I was waiting. He is very friendly & good with people. Im not sure if hes new this was only the 2nd time ive seen him but the friendliest employee there. I realize they were busy & things can take longer but from watching during the wait I noticed they were not prepared for a busy evening. I saw things such as one girl getting in the way of another scooping food etc to get to go boxes stocked on her side. Thats something that can be done before the busy dinner hours! Also the cooks were moving fast so it appeared the people packing & serving food had waited to let them know more orange chicken was needed until they were out. Im normally sent in this location during the day & orders are usually ready. Im not sure if this was just a bad night but was rather...
Read moreMy wife and I live in St Augustine, FL. We were minding our own business one night watching TV together when we notice Panera Inc’s intolerably shoddy system was breached, unfurling a series of obviously fraudulent charges across several U.S. states transpire on my wife’s debit card. The consequences from there continued as it caused several checks to bounce after Panera carelessly allowed $134 in several small charges rack up. After several follow ups with their incompetent “fraud team” we were able to recover most of the stolen funds except $35.21 from Round Lake Beach. We were told this was because when explained to the private vendor in Round Lake, they “refused” to return the stolen money from the victims living over 1,000 miles away.
This is shameful on the part of Panera; and perhaps even more so on the part of the small American business owners who seem to have rationalized their own disregard for protecting their customers from fraud. Also, your sandwiches are too bready, often stale and leave the consumer with an uncomfortably heavy feeling in the stomach.
The owners here should cut their losses and reinvest their capital in some venture unrelated to customer service; something like payday loans or whatever might allow them to fleece their customers unmitigated by conscience for a paltry $35. God bless...
Read moreI dont usually write bad reviews but this one needs it.
I ordered an Asian sesame chicken salad through the drive thru at this Round Lake, Illinois location. Since I am vegetarian I asked for no chicken and to add avocado.
When I got home there was chicken on it. I live about 20minutes from the location so I had to drive 20 minutes back to the store.
I asked to have the salad refunded and remade since I would now be driving an extra 40minutes round trip to get the new salad.
The shift manager said they could only refund it or remake it but not both. I asked to speak with her supervisor which was the store manager and he stated the same thing. Only to remake it or refund it. He then stated: "Im sorry but we dont reimburse you for your time." I was shocked by that response.
I had to drive an extra 40minutes for my meal only to get what I originally paid for. The rest of my family got to eat while I was gone so I was stuck eating by myself when I returned home. Apparently this location can mess up your order and no one is held...
