So this was a mixed review in several categories to me after I came with some buddies here to try it out. As far as customer service it was nonexistent which sucks because you always want to eat somewhere that’s friendly, fun & good vibe kind of spot. Besides the customer service, the food took a lot longer to prep then we are used to we waited about 40ish mins & we didn’t order much. There was 1 small family of 3 that came in after me & my friends ordered. My one buddy didn’t feel like eating much & ordered a kids meal lol ironically we were all jealous because the kids meal food was AMAZING! The chicken was breaded, seasoned very well, crunchy on the outside but juicy & tender on the inside. The fries had a slight well done orange tint to them which was perfect, crisp on the outside & tender on the inside. The sushi rolls weren’t bad but the price was pretty steep for the little we ordered. The sushi rolls were fresh & were good but the price definitely didn’t warrant that quality. The seats were super stiff since they don’t provide a cushion which made sitting on them after 20 minutes unbearable. It was so bad we just got to go boxes & finished our lunch at a park which was more comfortable. The interior designs & aesthetic wasn’t anything special which is odd because most sushi places pride themselves on the art inside when customers sit down. Also there was no music so it would’ve been awkward if it was busy because then it would be just random people talking. The cleanliness was pretty solid, everything was clean, nothing was sticky or nasty looking. The chopsticks were in rough condition because it was very rough almost like you’d get a splinter from them which was disappointing. The variety of rolls was very small & not what we are used to (big sushi guys over here lol) I gave 3 stars because the food quality wasn’t bad but the variety was severely lacking, the wait time was a bit high for an almost empty store, & the customer service was almost non existent. Would I recommend someone to eat here? Compared to the competition regarding variety, pricing & customer service they are on the low end of the spectrum compared to others. If they fixed those issues I mentioned above, they could have serious potential to be amazing! They picked a prime time location in round rock that’s ALWAYS busy but with some of the issues I highlighted earlier, the competition is much more fierce & competitive in many of the areas that they are...
Read moreLunch service review: Poke bowls here use sushi rice, but poke-style cuts on the protein so they are kinda between a tekkadon & poke. The sauces on the poke are also sauces used in other Japanese preparations & not poke. The poke bowls are tasty & a good value (although I question the chef's choice to put ponzu on Salmon). My poke bowl came with a surprising amount of avocado. Yum!
I appreciate that they use the common definition of a Philadelphia roll (not so at other places in the Rock) with smoked salmon, cream cheese & avocado. I applaud them for consistently calling escolar by its name throughout their menu. Some other places pass it off as "white tuna". Watch out folks! It's nickname is the ex-lax fish....lol
The restaurant is self-service. They only provide low-sodium soy sauce. The wasabi is the fake kind, but that's the industry standard. The temp in the dining room was frigid which I look forward to when it's over 100 outside.
We really needed a sushi restaurant in this part of town & I'm glad they are here! However, I'm withholding my judgement on the ramen. There's a great ramen restaurant very close to this one. It would take a very well done & well reviewed ramen to get me to...
Read moreArriving slightly after lunchtime, we were greeted by a clean and inviting atmosphere that gives a sense of freshness and tranquility. The spacious layout of the restaurant lent itself to a comfortable dining experience, devoid of the usual hustle and bustle found in many eateries. The menu presented an extensive array of options, ranging from appetizers to desserts, ensuring there was something to cater to every palate. After we settled on the ramen and shumai, eager to sample the culinary delights this establishment had to offer. The ramen was a symphony of flavors, with the broth rich and aromatic, and the noodles cooked to perfection. Each spoonful offered a tantalizing blend of savory goodness, leaving us craving more with every bite. The shumai, delicately crafted and bursting with flavor, provided the perfect accompaniment to the main dish. The combination of tender filling encased in a thin, translucent wrapper was simply divine, s. Overall, our experience at this restaurant was nothing short of delightful. From the inviting ambiance to the delectable fare, every aspect exceeded our expectations. We left feeling satisfied and content, eager to return and explore more of the...
