Rodolfo, the evening manager-on-duty, may need to take classes on management skills.
Tonight, we ordered a Margherita, which is traditionally a sauceless pizza topped with shredded mozzarella, fresh mozzarella, thinly sliced tomatoes, and fresh basil, all put on prior to baking the pie. The pie we received had chunks (about a dozen fat cold chunks) of tomatoes and cold mozzarella chunks. When we called back to inquire about it, Rodolfo rudely informed my fiance that "thats not how we do it here. the tomato and fresh mozzarella go on after cooking"....so that it's still cold or lukewarm at best after the 15 min drive home. Who wants cold crunchy tomatoes on their pizza? Here is the thing, if that's the way you do it fine, but let people know because that's not how every other pizza joint who offers the Margherita does it and therefore is not necessarily common knowledge. He again cut him off to reiterate it's just the way it's done, as in basically, 'who cares'. At this point, my fiance said "Manager to manager all you had to do is be empathetic and apologize even once for the misunderstanding"and they wouldn't have not only lost a customer (who intends on sharing the experience with the folks who referred him) but he wouldn't have pushed us to write a bad Facebook, google, and Yelp review because in the end it is just food. However, rudeness is not okay in the food (or retail or any) industry and this is why we are posting. He chuckled and said "okay, I'll make you another one the same exact way if you really want" and then hung up when my fiance mentioned calling back to talk to the owner. It sucks because we were really looking forward to what his clients raved was the best pizza in TX. And then we get something as mediocre as this with an attitude like that, it left quite a bad taste in our mouths. I ended up sprucing it up with my own fresh mozzarella and sliced tomatoes in addition to some basil (I honestly should have just made it myself but laziness won) He will be calling this week, like he said, to speak to the owner because this is not the type of disposition an employee should have, and even less so as...
Read moreI held off on reviewing this place because the first experience was awful and I believe in giving places a second chance on the principle that they may have just had an off-night.
That being said, I've ordered 4 times now for delivery. Two deliveries were utterly awful with regards to the food AND the delivery time. The other two deliveries were perfect. I don't care how good the food is, this place isn't worth the aggravation and inconsistency I've experienced. Look elsewhere for reliable pizza/sub/pasta delivery. You won't find it here.
Edit: The manager, Eddie, just phoned and had the audacity to criticize ME for leaving a bad review "17 minutes after the delivery arrived." I'm pretty sure I was able to determine in 17 minutes that this delivery was absolute garbage.
I also received a nasty attack reply here on Yelp from this manager.
The early delivery? I scheduled a delivery from my work computer at 5pm, to be delivered at 6:30pm because I knew I wasn't going to be home before that time. Pure luck that Hubbs got home early to accept it.
A salad we paid for was not included and yet we were charged.
The hot wings were inedible due to being severely undercooked.
We ordered 3 meatballs with the pasta and only received 2.
Paying $.75 for 2 pieces of 4" pencil-thin celery and 1 piece of 3" pencil-thin carrot really annoyed me.
Between the $13.50 for the wings, the $3.50 for a non-existent salad, the $.75 for scrap vegetables, and the extra $1 for a meatball we ordered and didn't receive, I have to call this place a total waste of money and time. I'm out $19 and have learned that management at this restaurant really doesn't give a darn when they disappoint customers.
Msg to Eddie: Good luck in your future career as a...
Read moreIt was Father's Day and everyone wanted me to BBQ. I stood my ground and refused as this was my day to be celebrated damn it. I sat down and scoured the interweb for GREAT PIZZA PLACES NEAR ME!!!! and guess what. This place showed up. And that had a 20" pizza. With a large family like mine, a 20" pizza could be a new bestie. Order four 20" pies. Basic setup on the pies. One cheese, 2 pepperoni, and 1 pepperoni and jalapeno. I cringed on the Jalapenos because it was $3.50 for the added topping but since it was Father's Day, I was going all out. Picked up the pizza on time and shuttled off for the evening of festivities with the fragrance of Italian pepperoni, marinara, and jalapenos wafting about the van's vast 15-person seating cabin. The Pizza Reveal brought the day crashing down around me. My long drive to the party with the fumes boiling around in my head were having a Pavlovian effect on me. I could wait no longer, The van had hardly come to rest before I gnawed the box of what should be glorious culinary heaven. And there to my HORROR was my Pepperoni and Jalapeno 20" Pie. 20" PIE!!! 314 square inches of pizza. and 24 Jalapenos. 24 JALAPENOS for $3.50 on 314sq" of Pizza? The average jalapeno is about 1 inch. That is $.14 per jalapeno and on a 20" pizza cut into 16 slices means about 1.5 slices of jalapeno per slice of pizza. Let's Math that up real quick. 24 slices/pie for $3.50+Tax ($3.78) 32oz Can of Jalapenos costs ~$20 and there are about 920 slices/can. At 24 slices /pie, the cost basis is $.52. 570% markup? NOPE! NOPE! NOPE!! The pizza was ok but some things I have to avoid on principle alone. Thanks for...
