Iām sorry to grade this as low quality food, I hope they improve their menu⦠The place was very hot, I donāt think AC was working, the service was good, waiters were very nice. To start, when you get seated they get you a plate with tostadas and saltiness crackers only (every restaurant I been at give you salsa at least, and the seafood restaurants some times they add a very small size of ceviche) we buy drinks⦠michelada - I like it was good seasoned ā vampiro- was bland, not good enough, we have to adjusted it adding mor salt and pepper to drink it , it was a šš» I ordered one tostada de camarón, not complaining at all was good šš» My nephew ordered coctel de camarón .. very watery, the consistency of the sauce they serve the camarones in was very liquid, needed salt o seasoning, something! Was a šš» My husband order sopa de mariscos⦠I had never eaten a soup like this, so bad ⦠was like a tomato soup whit the seafood tossed in it! šš» I ordered caldo de camarón - was the same tomato soup with the shrimps inside.. šš» I been eating this type of caldos in restaurants that the seafood is not their main food and had been way better than this caldosā¦.
Please management⦠review your sopas and caldos recipe!!! They are no good ! The prices were expensive⦠I understand that seafood is expensive but if at least the food were good I couldnāt complain about the price!!
I hope you make changes so you can succeed.. we really need a good Mexican seafood restaurant in the area⦠otherwise I have to keep driving to San Antonio to eat in a good seafood restaurant!
Also⦠the restroom which is almost part of the eating area š...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have spent a lot of time eating seafood in Mexico and this is the ONLY restaurant in the Austin area I have found that knows what they are doing. The ceviche tostadas are fresh and generous and very very reasonable price. The seafood tower is fantastic loaded with a variety of fresh and raw prawns/scallops/fish/octopus and while it is $23 is it enough for 4 people as an appetizer. The sauce it is in is excellent and real Mexican style. The bacon wrapped cheese filled prawns are as good as I have had in Mexico.
They also make a range of seafood tacos that remind me of the style in Tijuana that are sooooo good. Their gobernador with shrimp and sausage is a must try.
I moved recently from the SF Bay area that has no Tex-Mex and only authentic west coast style cuisine/seafood.....this place is the closest I have found to that authenticity in Austin. I'll eat there once a week from now on.
It is true their prawn dishes are more expensive than most local places, but you get what...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm not sure how to start this because I never write a negative review.
No, I don't care for being greeted when I walk in but when I'm sitting down and three waitresses are 1.passing me up,not asking me anything 2.looking at me every five minutes without offering any type of service is unacceptable.
I understand if it's busy, but there's currently four tables and three waitresses. I grabbed my own menu from the bar to maybe get their attention, but was unsuccessful and top things off a guy walked in 20 minutes after I did, and immediately got served tostadas and a menu.
I guess they thought I was there to just sit and watch people eat. What is really disappointing is that I've been here multiple times and have tipped really well. And to top it off, the waitress comes in literally yells at me & asked me if I want anything. What for?? So you can spit...
