I started working at this Whataburger location around May or June, Hard to tell because I applied before the store opened up. They started me at the location off of I-35 by outback steakhouse and it was fun, they had flexible schedules and the only complaint I had about working there was that my first check or two had some issues getting to me but overall wasn't bad for a high school kid wanting some extra cash. Once the store opened up after being delayed for a couple of months, the experience started to drop, for starters the way me and my co-workers specifically my friends and really anyone who was in high school, were treated poorly by a team lead who became manager named Liz, who picked favorites when it came to crew members (employees in the orange shirts). certain work shifts started being assigned to those employees over anyone else regardless if they were doing a better job or not. When this started happening me and all of my friends just quit and found better jobs. This happened around September of 2021. More recently I've started coming here to pick up food when it's later at night or with friends and I get my usual, avocado bacon burger without any of the creamy pepper sauce and they managed to mess it up on 3 separate occasions in a row. I do not blame this on the actual employees but rather poor management and training because when I transferred to this Whataburger location, no one trained me on the things I didn't have the time to learn at the old location like cooking and the "make up table" which is basically making the food and wrapping it. I highly recommend you spend the extra 7-10 minutes driving to the location off of 35 or go somewhere completely different because I have nothing but bad things to say about this location not only as a former employee but as a...

Arrived to pick up the order and found cones blocking both drive-thru lanes. Doors were all locked, but employees were inside (never even acknowledged my hubs when he checked both doors). Had to call the restaurant from the parking spot right in front of the entrance, and watch them slowly saunter over to pick up the phone. Explained the situation when the guy answered, then had to say it all again when the phone was handed to yet another guy (with not a single word from the first guy). After guy number 2 confirmed my order, he said to park at the curbside parking and they will bring it out. Moved over to a curbside spot and waited. Waited a good while. Finally the order was brought to the car, and at least the guy was friendly when he handed it over. Order was almost completely correct, only 1 of the fries was a medium when it should've been a large. Didn't bother trying to call again to have it corrected though... This location is never as busy as the other 2 Round Rock locations (saw the crazy line for the one on IH35 on our way home), and they are always friendly, and also fairly consistent with getting orders ALMOST 100% correct. Even with the drive-thru situation this time, I still prefer this location to the others. And bonus - I earned a reward with my mobile order (qualified for 2 visits since it was over $20). So it looks like I'll be going...
Read moreHad high hopes for this location, but sadly disappointed. Tried ordering through the second lane tonight as it was not blocked off with a cone, sat there 5 minutes saying hello, no response. Had to back up and use the other lane in which someone had already pulled in and was finishing ordering. Waited several minutes Had to say hello 3x before someone finally responded to take our order. Order was wrong, ordered the bacon bleu cheese burger and it came with NO bacon and small dallop of bleu cheese. 1 tiny slice of tomato on both burgers I ordered.
Last visit I also used the second lane (also not blocked off) someone took my order but told me to merge into lane A. Not sure why there are 2 lanes to order at if cars need to merge into 1 lane. As you can imagine no one would let me over as they probably didn't understand what I was trying to do as it didn't make ANY SENSE. The child finally comes out and flags me forward and asks if I heard her tell me to merge. Yes, and my blinker was on and line was backing up due to TRYING to merge, as again makes NO SENSE to move from lane B into lane A just because you don't want to come out in the heat to do the job you are being paid to do. Order comes out 15 minutes later and the brownies I ordered were missing. Waited another 10 minutes before finally getting the product I paid for.
Training definitely needed for staff and if second lane is not being used...
