Somewhat different style of hotpot, if it can be considered this. An apt description of what kind of restaurant this is, is more of a create your own bowl place, where you just grab the various toppings/veggies/noodles/beef in whatever magnitude and order you want.
However, note, there's a procedure that you need to do, which is not written anywhere or how to do anything here. The staff either don't really speak English, or they have a low mumble voice, either or, it's very hard to communicate with them. They are also pretty rude and brash on the procedure of things and gets frustrated pretty quickly when you don't understand what they're saying.
You are supposed to sign up on the Yelp pad to get seated, though based on observation, they have no one coming out to seat anyone, even with tables empty. If you sign on the pad and find your own table, since you'll need a place to sit after giving your order to them to cook, they'll get pretty pissy.
Other than that, the food is priced at $13.99 per pound for soup bowls and $14.99 for bowl mix. What I find somewhat scummy is that the scale isn't rated so your end price also includes the bowls weight, which itself isn't light.
The food itself was alright, they had some interesting toppings, which I didn't grab. Note that the Traditional Pork Bone broth has to come with some level of spice, which is suspicious, as if you had a traditional bone pork broth, you would want to let your clientele to taste the many hour simmered broth...unless they used powder to make their base and then use spicy oil to help cover that fact.
I'm not sure if I'll come back here again, even though the food was alright, as I think you'll have a better...
Read moreThis is a place that theres a rawr food counter where you grab the food you want and give it to the server. They have different soup bases and whatever you chooses, they will use the soup bases ( 4-5 different options ) to cook the food. Pretty popular for the past few years in US that came from china.
This place locates in Diamond plaza. You have to drive all the way in to where Midoh, MeloMelo, The Alley boba is. There's alot of parking here and underground parking toward the middle of the parking lot. It can get busy finding a spot nearby on nights because Chubby Cattle is a few stores away and its a popular spot for people to go.
The interior of this place is bright with orange and white wall. Once you get in, the left side is where you grab your food, the counter is straight ahead all the way inside.
I got the pork bone soup bases with mild spice level. This place only have spicy soup but mild spice is not that spicy because I'm someone that can't handle spicy. Lots of different food to pick from. Soup is rich.
The server that assisted me doesn't show alot of smile and when I asked him questions, he didnt seem that friendly. Not sure if he is just too bored / not enjoying his job / or thats how he is but you cannot be like that as customer service. You don't need to please people but the way hows hes presented can really turn people away.
I wanted to give this place a 4 because the food and settings are all 4 but the server's presentation had me make the decision of giving is a 3. Don't get me wrong, he's not mean or he said some bad things but He needs to be aware of how he's...
Read moreAsk some questions. When the boss is away, the waiter has another attitude, which is bad, it is recommended that such employees go back to China on their own. The most annoying thing is to pay. Normally, a tip is given at the end, but it must be paid in advance here. At the same time, since it is a dine-in meal, a tip must be given. but! There is no service and it's very chaotic, loud talking, no personal space and feels more like a fast food restaurant. However, fast food restaurants in the United States do not need to tip! ! ! Here you need to pay a tip! ! ! There is no service here! No service whatsoever! ! No service whatsoever! And the waiters are very unprofessional! ! ! The guy at the checkout didn't tell me about the membership card activity when I paid, but when I ate, the guy behind told me about 60 bucks or something, which was terrible. The funniest thing is the beverage machine in the store. As a beverage machine, it actually requires the waiter to pick up the drink, which is very inconvenient! ! ! Even because of the activity of giving a drink, you have to write a good review to him first, and then he will give you a drink, take off your pants and fart, and eat your fill. So since you are participating in the event, why can't you give a drink first? Who wouldn't give a good review for cheating on a drink? The store itself is very small. If you focus on fast food, please be faster, then the environment is not the first, so you don't need to tip. If the main focus is to tip, please improve the quality of service. Eating here only makes me feel like I'm eating food stalls at the free market, or worse. No service whatsoever! No service whatsoever! So why tip? That cashier will really tell you confidently that you have to tip when you eat at an American restaurant. Indeed, there is service of course tipping. Position yourself in a fast food restaurant and tip gross? Really very upset, I finished the meal for 40 dollars, but it seemed like I didn't eat it. This $40 is like eating a roadside stall! And there are so many people that you will crash without any service! Very bad! ! ! Of course, I'm not useless. There is no problem with Mala Tang itself, the boss feels good, very real, and the way he handles guests is also very good. However, some waiters do not agree. These deficiencies hope to be corrected. It is not unacceptable for a "noisy, complex, crowded and noisy" dining environment, but such an environment should not be tipped. If you tip, you should also tip at the end of the meal, according to the quality of service! Instead of giving it in front of the payment and when the service level is unknown, it is no different from stealing money! The tip is obviously given at the end, so why pay a percentage without knowing the level of service? ? ? What's more, there is no service after this, so why pay a...
