Duke Bakery — Restaurant in Walnut

Loved trying all the breads before buying. Really liked the chocolate ones as they had a deep choco flavor.

Staff was attentive and cleaned up often. Place was clean, which is extremely important when people are sampling things around.

I had a promotion of buy 4 bread get 1 free so I bought 5 breads thinking the 5th one would be free. Unfortunately the promo was misleading and it meant I got an additional random bread they had prepared for free...so I ended up with 6 breads. I wish I had known and would have just bought 4. Minor detail, but I do like clear information.

Another plus was that we bought the last of a bread they werent planning on replenishing anymore that afternoon, so the employees offered us all the leftover samples of that bread to take home (and it was actually a lot! At least 1 more bread)... so technically we bought 5 and got 2 extra...for just 4 people. That's a lot of bread to finish up before it...

Duke Bakery is unique for their breads stuffed with goodies on the inside. I love that they have samples for most of their breads because the sizes are not individually portioned; it's still good the second day. Commitment is easier once you know you want to indulge in a particular flavor. The breads are consistently soft and fluffy. Our default choices are strawberry milk, taro angel, and choco & blue mt. coffee. They rotate some flavors around and some sell out faster than others. Best bet is to go in the mornings for first picks. Quick note about the milk tea - drink isn't great, but the boba is QQ; there are plenty of better options.

PS - the parking lot is usually packed; I'd avoid making a special trip during prime time...

The bread is fine. But you need to show the real card to get 10% discount. I showed the picture of card number on the phone to the old lady casher, and she said nothing about presenting a real membership card. Then after the sales, she said I did not show her the real card to get 10% off. When she looked at the pictures of the card number on the phone, she said nothing. Then later she said she needs to see a real card. At the end, I showed her the real card, but she kepts arguing with me that she did not see the pictures of card number on the phone.

The cashier just wanted you, a membership customer, to get out of the store soon, so she did not care if the customer...
