Blaze Pizza — Restaurant in Rowlett

My family wanted to try the new pizza place so I thought why not. I made multiple attempts to place the order on-line and told me as I was about to pay their system was overloaded. Well, strike 1 for the on-line system.

It was a do nothing night so I drove over to place the orders and bring the pizza home. I was not sure of how everything worked but soon found out and after waiting in line for 15 minutes. The young lady working the order station told me this was the subway of pizza, one size crust and then you pick all of the toppings for one price. I found this better than the on-line ordering process and proceeded to fulfill everyone's orders.

I waited as the pizzas were cooked and saw the process of lining them up on racks after preparing, and then the oven person cooking them and lastly, the person who cuts and delivers the order. This process did not take long as the pizzas cook quickly in the oven.

When I got home everyone was excited to taste the new pizza and see if we have a new restaurant to eat in Rowlett. The orders basically were chicken and bell pepper with mozzarella chunks, pepperoni, onions and mushrooms, chorizo sausage with the basil, pepperoni and shredded mozzarella cheese so, a variety.

Everyone came back with the exact same conclusion, it was the blandest pizza we have ever had. Now, we have had pizza all over the US and in Italy so, we are not fast food pizza only folks, we know how it should taste. My son told me he has had frozen pizza with more flavor than these and this is coming from an 18 year old boy. For a Texan the best way to compare this is to put a Whataburger against an In-and-out burger. You know the Whataburger has the best reputation but people still go to In-and-out even though it is a bland taste horrible burger. And like In-and-out, this place is out of California. I guess they are trying to give the folks moving here a taste of home.

We are sorry it had to be this way but, it happens. We would have loved to have had a new place to eat and, I loved how they employed so many high school and college aged kids to work there.

Also, I found out one of the major owners is LeBron James, and I hope his investment does well but, I won't support him or anyone dealing with the NBA.

I ordered delivery only to be called by the driver (doordash) saying they arrived at the restaurant and the order would be another 25-30 minutes and they didn't want to wait that long. They were unable to cancel from their app so I tried to cancel. There is no way to cancel in the blaze app and no one answered the phone at the restaurant, so I decided to just go and get the pizza. I arrive to pick up where the person at the cut table is angry saying the driver lied and my order was almost ready. Also, the doordash driver was still there ordering a pizza (showed my name on their phone after they overhead my conversation). The guy at the cut table gave me the pizza and said he would have to call doordash to cancel. I received an email from blaze saying my delivery was canceled, but I was still charged the full amount, including delivery. I have tried to contact Blaze several times on the issue with no response. Decent pizza, but there is no customer service if something goes wrong. I'm still waiting for...

2nd experience here. Manager was great about the problems but the food and the overall service are not worth returning. Server gave me attitude when I told them the pizza they were asking me about was not mine, but a refire for someone else. Watched them grab handfuls of toppings and carry them off somewhere else, dripping liquid from spinach and cheese over my crust. Watched my pizzas sit cold on the prep station out of the oven instead of being boxed (second time that happened). Toppings are not very flavorful, the canadian bacon is huge (should be cut into 1/4 like most places do). Blackened spots on my crust with a burnt taste, and burnt outer crust. Very little to redeem this place at all. They can fix the service but I don't see them being able to fix flavor.
