When they first opened the A/C was out and I didn't recognize any brands and thought it was a bottom of the barrel food store. Next time A/C fixed, lighting brighter and that's when I discovered that it was basically relabeling of name brands. I tried the mayo which reminded me of Trader Joe's, my favorite. I tried more and more products and was very impressed to the point I learned to love it. Sure brands may be limited, but almost all of what they have is top notch. The same German/European Christmas and easter candies that were once only found at World Market are there for a fifth to tenth of the price. I'm of German heritage and I love finding the sausages and other products made in Germany, the real deal. They also have many hard to find as well as never seen delicious items. They also seem to add new products every week, and I love their sales as expiration dates near instead of trashing them. Their Special limited stay products are fantastic. The Gyros kits match many pseudo Greek restaurants. Now I see name brands creeping in and that's convenient. The produce and it's prices cannot be beat (3 multi colored bell peppers for $1.79) as opposed to a buck a piece on a good day at all other groceries. Wednesday meat intros are getting better all the time and the quality is choice. Just wish that they would increase their spice selection. All in all they are always where I go first on my shopping runs before heading to Kroger's and the Thumb. 5+ stars from me and also I'm a pro chef. I never knew the Trader Joe's and Aldi connection until recently, another favorite. P.S. Their Winking Owl wines can't be beat. I guess it's their answer to the old Two Buck Chuck. Thanks Aldi for...
Read moreI've never been in an aldi. I've heard great things but this experience was terrible. The store was alright, the selection was slim but the produce looked good. I found most everything I needed for the week. The one star was for the service though. There was a big line and only 1 cashier. Finally after waiting about 10 mins another checkstand opened up A woman named Debbie checked me out. She was very rude to me from the start. I had never been there and instead of being helpful she just started at me with a demeaning glare. I was very uncomfortable. She them proceeded to literally throw my items in The cart on top of each other crushing my produce and spilling my berries...she then demanded payment and shoved my receipt at me before I could even respond. I was very appalled. To make matters worse she proceeded to the next customer with a friendly smile and greeting. Guess I'll never know why Debbie hated me so much, but I definitely won't be returning to this...
Read moreOnce you learn how to use a quarter to unlock a cart and to bring your own bags (or buy theirs) you find a more limited selection of grocery items than big grocery stores. But they also have unexpected limited time things at bargain prices like seasonal goods: beach items, insulated cups. Unpredictable. All basic items are available on shelves, in produce and in frozen sections. Don’t be afraid to try their house brands. Tried their cheese puffs. Comparable to Frito Lay. Their prices are equal to or less than warehouse stores like Sam’s. The staff hospitality is variable. They like to close at 8pm and they will Shepard you to the check out if you go to slow. Not a secret that they want to close and go home. Went there Friday Dec 28, 2024. Young lady was stocking groceries, 7:30pm, reminded us they close in 30 min, was also one who checked us out was engaging and funny. Cash or debit cards only. I shop there...
