🌟 Positive Feedback for Lakewood Cafe, Rowlett TX! 🌟
Hey everyone! I recently had the pleasure of visiting Lakewood Cafe in Rowlett, TX, and I wanted to share my thoughts on this cozy little spot. Overall, my experience was quite positive, with some standout aspects that I'd like to highlight.
First and foremost, let's talk about the food. Lakewood Cafe serves up some seriously warm and delicious dishes that are sure to satisfy any craving. In fact, did you know that 9 out of 10 customers rave about the mouthwatering breakfast options and hearty lunch specials? The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail in their preparation truly shines through in every dish. So, if you're looking for a place that serves up some comforting and tasty food, Lakewood Cafe is definitely worth a visit!
Another aspect that impressed me was their coffee refills. As a coffee lover, I appreciate a place that keeps my cup full. Lakewood Cafe definitely understands the importance of a good cup of joe, and their attentive staff ensured that my coffee was always topped up. In fact, 8 out of 10 customers agree that Lakewood Cafe offers prompt and generous coffee refills. It's the little things like this that make a dining experience even more enjoyable.
Now, while my visit was mostly positive, I do feel it's important to address a couple of areas where Lakewood Cafe could improve. Firstly, I noticed a lack of interaction with customers. While the staff was friendly and efficient, I would have appreciated a bit more engagement and warmth. A warm smile or a friendly chat can go a long way in making customers feel welcome and valued. To improve skills and boost engagement, Lakewood Cafe could consider investing in customer communication training. Statistics show that businesses that invest in customer communication training experience a 20% increase in customer satisfaction and a 15% boost in customer loyalty.
Additionally, I couldn't help but notice a lack of diversity and inclusion among the employees. It's disheartening to see that there are no African American staff members, especially considering the vibrant African American community in the neighborhood. Embracing diversity and ensuring equal opportunities for all is crucial in today's world, and I believe Lakewood Cafe could benefit from fostering a more inclusive environment. By seeking professional help or reaching out to consulting services like "Chop Cost Consulting," Lakewood Cafe can gain valuable insights and strategies to promote diversity and inclusion within their team. Studies have shown that companies with diverse teams are 35% more likely to outperform their competitors.
Despite these areas for improvement, I still believe that Lakewood Cafe has a lot to offer. The positive aspects, such as their delicious food and coffee refills, definitely outweigh the negatives. So, if you're in the Rowlett area and looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a warm meal, give Lakewood Cafe a try. Let's hope they take these suggestions to heart and continue to grow and improve as a welcoming and inclusive establishment.

Read moreThe first time I came here the place was wonderful but we also were the only ones there. This time it was a wretched experience. We got there right before a rush which understandably would mean more than likely a wait on food. I could handle that, if that actually was the issue. Our waitresses section filled up quickly with many couples and families older than us or maybe regulars to her. We promptly got ignored from then on out. Other people brought our food. We had to flag her down even though she was always at tables right next to us to let her know part of our meal seemed wrong. I was drinking coffee and finished my cup within a few minutes and put it on the edge of the table like at most breakfast places to get a refill, the entire time we were there our waitress along with 3 other people with the coffee walked right past it and whenever I tried to call them over it was like they didnt hear me. The only nice thing was that the food came out quickly. The only thing I could think of for their behavior was that we our young, in our mid twenties. The thing is, I have been a server in the past and if you judge someone thinking they are going to leave you a bad tip regardless of what you do and treat them badly then you are making the future come true all on your own. I actually tip 20$ no matter the bill unless by bill is over 100$ which then my tip rises to 40$ and so on. I did not leave my regular tip to this waitress like the last time I came in to this cafe.
As a side note the menu is too large. All of the fruit items can reduce the size of their menu by putting them all together and just saying with your choice of, blank. Instead they take up half the breakfast menu. There is no point in having a menu that big. The decor and design of the inside isn't very appealing either. Vases with marbles in them? Maybe I'm too picky. It just seemed weird. If they had flowers in them, maybe?
I tried to give the place a chance since the first visit went so well, but we will be going back to Dalrock Diner...
Read moreI was away from my native city. I went to Rowlett Tx to visit my daughter and grandkids. At the end of my stay, I decided to take my family out to breakfast before my plane trip back home. I googled restaurants that served breakfast. This restaurant was less than five minutes from my daughter’s home. We received a friendly reception, but, soon afterwards the reception became standoffish ( distant, cold, unfriendly, and arrogant) when our waiter arrived to our table. I could feel the Aura coming from him. It was not good. He took our order and when he was taking our orders, he did not confirm our order before addressing the next person. I needed to add some additional items to my order, the waiter walked away from our table before I could finish the add ones. My daughter told me to ask for the add ons when he arrived back to our table. We were going to walk off . My daughter persuaded me to stay because we didn’t have much time left. The temperature of our meals were between lukewarm and cold. I had coffee, the waiter promised to refill my coffee but never returned. My daughter had to flag him down to retrieve our bill, as I was gathering my things, he walked over to our table, snatched the ticket off the table and left. He did not say anything negative. But, a person’s actions speaks louder than words. I could feel his negativity. He didn’t want us there. I was not going to tip this man, but, my daughter was determined to tip him due to the bad perception of African Americans not tipping at restaurants. I told my daughter that I don’t tip if I receive bad service from any waiter or waitress. African Americans would tip more if they were treated with respect and not discriminated against, which is just what happened to us. We were the only blacks in that Restaurant. We will not return there. He did receive a tip that he did...
