Drizl Coffee — Restaurant in Rowlett

Had a horrible experience today. Saw this place tiktok and drove an hour to go to check it out. This was backed up with like 15 drinks? Told me it was an hour long wait. I sat down, as I was willing to wait to try out the banana pudding as it was only limited to the weekend. The banana and ube pudding were just sitting out on the counter where customers pick up their drinks… it was not cold inside the establishment either. I left when I noticed.

EDIT: insane response. After reading the reply by the owner, I will be contacting the local Rowlett health division.

Your employee training and communication is YOUR responsibility. Maybe management, or even the owner, can learn from this to be more mindful for future trainings. Employees represent their employers, that is a given.

For the puddings being left out, right where customers pick up their drink. That is unacceptable to me, and I’m not sure if even “briefly” is safe, as I am very concerned about food safety. Always.

How brief was it? Because it was NOT just a couple of minutes.The pictures I uploaded don’t do justice to how unhygienic it was. Personally, I am incredibly disturbed by my experience in person and even now by the response by the owners. I do find that this is a recurring theme as I’ve combed through more reviews.

EDIT 2: WOW, intimidation tactics! I thought review places were the proper channels, for someone to uh… write a review? Real nasty attitude with the reply. Why would anyone want to further contact with someone that is so very obviously aggressive? Not me. After a disappointing start, the owner reached out to make things right. Nora let me tried some items and let me tell you they were delicious! First was the Krunchoco latte, the perfect balance of rich, velvety chocolate with a satisfying crunch in every sip. It’s indulgent without being too heavy, and the texture makes it stand out from your usual lattes. A must-try for any chocolate lover looking for something a little different! Next I tried the Caramel De Leche, is smooth, creamy, and perfectly sweet. The rich caramel flavor blends beautifully with the milk and coffee, making it a comforting treat in every sip. The Biscoff matcha was definitely different but flavorful and delicious. It is a perfect mix of earthy and sweet. The creamy matcha pairs so well with the warm, spiced Biscoff flavor. And finally tried the Brown Butter brulee, it is smooth, rich, and perfectly sweet. The toasty brown butter flavor with the hint of caramelized sugar makes every sip warm comforting and yummy. Me and my mom came about 10 minutes before closing because we really wanted to try out this place, and the 2 ladies kindly welcomed us in. It was our first time here and they gave us recommendations. They had a variety of drink options and food options. Their pop tart and blueberry lemon muffin were amazing!!!. I got the "Cereal Killer" frappuccino and i lovedddddd it! Also the decor was so beautiful, small business coffee shops are always so cute:) We will definitely come back in the future. 10/10 recommend !

Updated Review: After revisiting after a long time, i'm disappointed that the menu got wayyyy smaller and they unfortunately removed my favorite "cereal killer" & "white chocolate hazelnut" drinks, as well as the poptart they used to have (menu items that were so great & could not get at any other coffee shop in or near my area). Also, The Couple of times i've went back the matcha has tasted like straight milk & not like how it used to be. Not sure if I will be a regular here anymore sadly.
