Stopped in at this new Tex-Mex restaurant that used to be Crusito's up until last week. This seems to be a chain restaurant so I was really hoping that it was a good place to go for lunch or dinner. My wife and I both order a "house" margarita and a guacamole appetizer, plus salsa and chips came complementary. The chips were really good and fresh, the salsa was different. not bad but unlike others. The guacamole was great and margaritas were OK. My wife ordered a enchilada verdi dish which she enjoyed, I ordered the beef/chicken fajita combo which was good, not great. We also ordered their top shelf margaritas, Grand Las Palmas, which were better with more tequila but at $14, kinda pricy. Overall we were happy with our first try here, and hope that it hits it's stride and improves a bit more. So many Tex-Mex restaurants come and go so quickly these days, I am really hoping that this one does well and survives. Update: I'm sorry to say that I won't be back. The food quality has completely gone in the dumpster! I was really hoping that this one would make it, but after 6-8 tries, they just can't seem to get it right. Poor food and marginal cocktails. A real shame! I was really rooting for...
Read moreWe went in hoping for the best. Almost walked straight ahead in to a glass wall. Very odd entrance. So much work there that you would think it would have been changed. Service was pretty good all around. There were managers/owners lurking about doing nothing which was uncomfortable. We received chips and salsa quickly. The chips were good, but the salsa had the consistency of campbells tomato soup, wasn’t spicy or flavorful, and had an off putting taste. I had a combination plate. The best thing on the plate was the guacamole. It was very good. Enchilada, flauta, and Chile relleno was OK but not great. It had a much more flavorful sauce and would have been much better served as salsa. My wife had a salad with chicken fajita meat. It was OK but clunky. We will likely give them another shot, but it was all about the food for us and over all it just wasn’t good. There are also way too many items on the menu. It seems they would have done some research on the very successful Mexican restaurants in the area and studied their game plan. It looks like they went full steam ahead with what they wanted to do and...
Read moreYou are better off going to Taco Bell. The service was very slow and the food was bland. We got better frozen drinks from The frozen section at SPECK’s. We waited 15 minutes before anyone even recognized us. I ordered the queso fundido and we just got a bowl of queso. We asked one of the waiters for the real queso fundido and guacamole and we had to ask for more chips. We finally got the quest undid and it was hard as a rock. It was almost as if the left it in the microwave to long. This dining experience was so horrible that we just decided to play it safe and go to In and Out. I will say that two of the servers really made an effort to provide great service but the entire team needs to relook the importance of teamwork and ensure that each customer has a great dining experience. We will not be coming back to this place and not a good start for a...
