I am not a lover of salty food and therefore had not eaten at Chiloso's in a loooonnnnggggg time. My wife loves it and would meet friends for lunch and other catered events to enjoy their food.
The other day my wife talked me into going so I gave in. I tried the meats before I ordered anything to taste for salt, I watch my salt for health reasons, and found the beef to not be as salty as the chicken. I ordered a beef bowl, no tortilla to cut back but, I really wanted one, and added the extras. The taste, as it has been in the past, was excellent, a 10 for this. The food presentation area for choice was nice and orderly so I give it a 10 as well. It was busy so there was some mess around but they cleaned quickly after the line calmed down.
The eating area was clean and we'll put together. The area for utensils and other various items were well maintained. There was no sweet tea and, in Texas, this is sinful. However, the manager jumped on the problem and in no time, sweet tea was made.
The staff on the line were friendly but a bit like a machine. I am sure since it was busy they were doing their thing but, it would be nice for some friendly interaction. The gentleman at the register did his thing but was just not with it when it comes to customer service. I give the manager a 10 for the tea issue, the food preparers a 10 for food quality but a 5 for customer service. As for the cashier, he did his job but could have been friendly to so many and earned a 10 but, I give him a 4.
Overall, I give my experience here a 9 and, will go back again to give them another chance at the customer service.
The food, very good. It is a quality product and freshly made, you can tell. We have few choices for good quick food which is not a burger in Rowlett so Chiloso's is nice to have. Give them a try and give us...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Chilos Rowlett is easily one of my favorite places to eat, not just because of the food but because of the people who work here. Elizabeth deserves a huge shoutout. Every time I come in for dinner, she goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. She is warm, she is attentive, and she genuinely makes you feel valued as a customer. She remembers faces, she checks in at the right times, and she always brings such positive energy to the room. She is honestly one of the best I have ever seen at what she does.
What makes me really appreciate this location even more is that it is not just Elizabeth. The rest of the staff deserves credit too, especially the breakfast crew. Elizabeth usually is not there in the mornings, but that does not stop me from coming in. The staff in the morning always greets me with a smile, gets everything out quickly, and helps start the day on the right foot. There have been days where I have had breakfast here, gone about my business, and then found myself back again for dinner. Both times, whether morning or night, I left impressed. It's also a place my whole family loves which is hard when you have small picky eaters!
That kind of consistency says everything. The food is always tasty and dependable, but it is the service that makes me loyal to this location. Elizabeth is an absolute standout, but the entire team together makes Chilos Rowlett feel like more than just a restaurant. It feels like a place you can count on no matter the time of day.
I do not write reviews often, but this one is easy. Elizabeth and the staff here are the reason I will keep coming back...
Read moreOkay, went for breakfast on Sunday 11/18/18. Let's just sum this up for those of you that don't want to read everything. Bad attitudes all around, filthy filthy filthy work areas and employee practices, and gave us the wrong order and over charged us. So, for the rest of you that want to read the rest, nobody said hi, nobody smiled, nobody said anything other than, what will you have or what sauce. The feeling was as if we were putting them out because we were there. Next, nothing grosses me out more than food service personnel that use gloves, but never change them. The lady at the second part of the line, asked us what condiments we wanted then literally reached into the condiments with her gloves, grabbed handfuls of cheese or corn and literally threw them on to our tacos. She had condiments going all over the counter and the floor and a little in our tacos. Then asked us what sauce we wanted. We got ranch and Pico. She grabbed little containers with her filthy gloves, dumps sauce into the containers as it spills out onto her gloves. She then flicks what got on her gloves back into the vat of sauce. Throw, literally, everything on our bag with sauce dripping everywhere, gets us chips that we didn't ask her for, and two drinks which we did not order. Then WITH THE SAME GLOVES touches all the buttons on the register and takes my debit card. The then goes to the next customer, WITH THE SAME REGISTER AND DEBIT CARD AND SAUCE GLOVES! the best part is that she was snorting and SNIFFLING the...
