I had high hopes for this restaurant, but was disappointed.
Firstly, I have to say that, a) I like Chinese food, but hate Japanese food, and b) I don't like seafood (this joint has all three options). Because of that, I only opted to try less than half of what this restaurant offers, so I only comment on the (non-seafood) Chinese portions.
This establishment is very, very, clean and modern-looking, impressive even (comparatively speaking). The staff seemed largely non-attentive and even though my glass was refilled when needed--just barely--the staff seemed distracted and to be off in dreamland somewhere; kinda strange.
There was no knife of any kind included with my silverware roll, which I thought odd (but there were steak knives available next to the desserts, for reasons unknown).
At least they served honest-to-God soft drinks with my meal, not some awful generic-branded swill that leaves a terrible aftertaste, as I have received at a few local Chinese buffets.
Highlights: the BBQ boned pork ribs had literally one end of the bone quite hot, while the other end of this same bone, the meat was cold (room temp)! How in the hell is that possible?? Some of the chicken dishes were barely above room temperature, and I feared that I might pay dearly for it the rest of the night (surprisingly; no).
The boneless BBQ pork rib meat was the toughest, chewiest, damndest, pieces of leather that I'd ever been served! Unbelieveable! I could not eat it, none of it. An animal would have fought to chew it up; I didn't stand a chance.
The rest of the food I availed myself to was somewhere in between not bad and nearly bad. And this was the most expensive buffet of the ones that I've tried locally ($16+). Personally, I was unimpressed with the dessert selection, and didn't bother.
Unless the Japanese food, seafood, and sushi here are amazing (I'll never know), then this establishment is not recommended by me, and I'll not visit here again. My search for a good--honestly good--Chinese buffet...
Read morePlace was clean. The food was all excellent and fresh. Plus everything I ate that was hot was hot and the cold stuff was cold. There was not a lot of people there so the air conditioning was not as cool as it should have been was sweating at times but it does have the grill on the buffet line. A flat surface and a char grill plus another semi opened kitchen right onto the main hot buffet line so you kind of have to anticipate the warmth I guess. They want you to see how clean the kitchen is while your going through the buffet line. The family owned staff was very nice. The buffet price was average. Definitely when we are in the area again and I get hungry this place I will be coming back to. I did use Mapquest to locate this place and checked all the places in the area looked at photos and reviews too. This one caught my eye. I did not use restrooms so I can't grade that because I had a walker and cast around my ankle. It was hard for me to go there at time used wet naps. The dessert assortment was fresh, cold and excellent tasting. The ice cream freezer the containers was a little on soft side which I like hate scooping into hard solid ice cream which it wasn't. To me it was perfect. They did have a covered chocolate fondue so it's not gathering all the dust that is in the air that you don't see I thought that was cool. Keeps the chocolate sanitary that was different. I reallly liked seeing that. I did not try it was not in the mood for that this afternoon when we went at. My mom and her boyfriend they go to a lot of the buffets throughout West Palm Beach county Royal Palm areas too. They even enjoyed this place and said they will even come back here too. So since I was the person driving they decided to have beer and wine also. So I let them enjoy themselves. I always get...
Read moreMy family and I recently visited the Asian Fusion Buffet, entering with anticipation and curiosity. Admittedly, my expectations weren't sky-high, but I was open to being pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately, the meal essentially confirmed my initial reservations. The overarching issue we encountered was the food's greasiness, which seemed to overshadow any potential for genuine flavor. Each dish we tried seemed to be in a competition that could leave the most residue on the plate, a contest no diner wants to witness.
Sadly, the buffet's sushi, usually a safe haven in such establishments, didn't buck this trend. It appeared lackluster, far from the vibrant and enticing offering one might hope for in a setting that prides itself on Asian cuisine. The visual appeal, often half the experience with sushi, wasn't there, leaving much to be desired.
However, it's essential to recognize the positives where they exist, and our server was undoubtedly one. She navigated our dining experience gracefully and efficiently, offering attentive service that was a silver lining to our visit. Her efforts to make our meal enjoyable amidst our disappointment did not go unnoticed and were genuinely appreciated.
Reflecting on this visit, I am unlikely to return or recommend Asian Fusion Buffet to others. The contrast between this experience and my parents' fond memories of a previous visit was stark, leading us to wonder if we had indeed stumbled into an entirely different restaurant. The promise of variety and flavor is paramount in the dining realm, especially with buffets. Unfortunately, this visit left us looking forward to our next meal elsewhere, hoping to rediscover the joy and satisfaction of a...
