Island Root Kava Bar Royal Palm — Restaurant in Florida

Don't bother! This spot used to be so rad, awesome Kavatenders and drinks that really hit. I just ordered a shell and had it slammed down on the bar and some of the kava even spilt out. I feel uncomfortable and not welcomed here. He made me feel like I'm bothering him when ordering a drink. Plenty of better kava bars elsewhere like The Chill Room!

My comment about the Chill Room was to offer other options. My post is in reference to my personal experience tonight. The guy with a ponytail made not only me but the people I was with feel unwelcome and bothered when ordering a drink. He also did set down my shell so aggressive kava spilled out. I love supporting the kava community as a whole which is why I am making this review. I don't want others to have the same experience I did and decided to share what other places I have never received this kind of service. This place has provided a true community for me and the people who work here and other customers have been there for me when going through hard times in life. The Sunday brunch is awesome and Haylee and Sebastian have made it so welcoming!! Maddy, Narin, Kody, Josh, Maynard, Rob and Christina are always attentive and engage with me when I’m there. The owner, John, always takes time to talk with me and ask about my life when he’s there. I really feel like it’s a family here. The drinks are great and the environment is cozy. Pool table, outside seating, inspiring wall art, friendly people, dog friendly and constant events for holidays and trivia night, live music on Fridays, happy hours every day. I had a great experience at this kava bar. The place is cozy and relaxing, with a nice ambiance and music. The kava drinks are delicious and potent, and they have a variety of flavors and options to choose from. The staff is friendly and attentive, especially Maddy, who was incredible and helpful. She explained the different types of kava, gave me some samples, and recommended the best drink for me based on my preferences and mood.
