I went in this evening and it was pretty busy. First of all, I really don't like the fact that after I order from the cashier I have no idea who is handling my order so that I know they're grabbing the right items from the assortment and I can ask them to select which ones look better from the display and pick which ones look right and not over done.
I ordered two chicken croquettes one chicken empanadas two pastelitos with beef and two pastelitos with guava and guava with cheese. Croquettes were fine and I imagine they were frozen not freshly made. Empanada ended up being spinach not chicken. I didn't bother going back in to fix that because it was so busy so I had the spinach it was alright and it had a decent filling. It took me three good bites into one of the pastelitos to taste any beef. The guava and guava cheese had a little bit oozing on the outside but less than half of the pastelitos even had guava and cheese or guava in it. The guava pastelito my family tried was okay but could use more in it. It was after 5:00 and I was hoping they might still have some loaves of fresh baked Cuban bread but did not. Aside from the hot food and the sandwiches in the Cuban bowls I don't know how much is actually made in the store or is brought in in the morning.
I will chalk this to the benefit of the doubt. I'm more than happy to give this another chance but if I had to compare my experience to any other Cuban bakery in West Palm Beach (for example Union bakery) Vicky has a lot of potential but is...
Read moreFirst and last time I visit this bakery.
We were dining at a nearby restaurant, but my son was uninterested in anything on the menu. So, we decided to visit the neighboring ViCKi bakery to get something for him. At that time, I was the only customer ordering, yet I was completely neglected. I had to raise my voice to get anyone's attention, and eventually, the cashier asked another employee to assist me.
When I finally managed to tell the employee what I wanted, I was not given the item and was instead directed to the cashier. This was surprising, as I had noticed other customers receiving their items before paying. The cashier then instructed the employee to give me the item, and I proceeded to pay. While I was paying, another employee came to the cashier, glanced at the screen, looked at the cashier, and laughed.
The entire experience was awkward, embarrassing, and highly inappropriate. I will not be returning to this bakery and will advise others to...
Read moreRecent experience which concerns me. My great nephew has severe “tree nut” allergies and we as a family have to be very careful when purchasing food items including cross contamination of products. A few weeks ago when going to this location, we actually spoke with the owner that was there and specifically asked if this was a nut free facility or at least do they offer nut free bakery items, etc… We were told “oh yes this is nut free and safe”. After we purchased items and went home, thank heavens that we went on the website just to check and the main website indicated that this is not nut tree free and items would be unsafe for consumption and not nut free. Thank heavens that we did not serve him what we purchased. As much as our family loves Vicky’s Bakery we are concerned going forward. The owners and staff, including all levels and management need to become educated on...
