Would be 0 zero stars if google would allow. Went there on 09/11/2017 after Hurricane Irma and obviously they were busy because of all the people but they were so unorganized. You know your going to be busy the day after the hurricane, then I suggest get it together before you open instead of rushing and having attitude with paid customers. Waited 25 minutes to get seated because at the time they only had 2 servers and one section of the restaurant blocked off. Once we sat down, we had people that did not even work at the restaurant taking our drink orders. Waited 40 minutes and still no one came to take our order, yet they opened up the other section because other servers finally arrived but began seating other people before making sure everyone at the first side was taken care of. 5 families that were after us were served, ate and left before I even placed my order. The family before me, was sitting right behind me and they ended up leaving because after 45 minutes still no one came to either table to acknowledge that we are there except for the people that did not work at the restaurant that brought us waters. As I explained my frustration to a lady that came to our table, she stated she did not work there. Another lady, I think her name was Pat who works at the restaurant sat than sat at my table and said that we have to understand that they are busy, I cut her off and told her that I completely understand that, what I don't understand is how 5 families that came in after me got served, ate and already left before I even got to order my food. She stated that is because they were seated in the section that was first closed off. I told her that is completely bad service and that the servers that came in should have helped on her side if it was too hectic before seating more people if they couldn't handle it. She told me "Well then you can just leave!" Mind you at this point, I was trying to leave as now I have waited well over an hour to have attitude like that towards me because I am upset is bad customer service. As I was going to wait to ask if I can just have my food boxed up to take home, I just decided to leave. I heard Pat many times while I was waiting, going to other customers tables saying "Hurry up and tell me what you want, we are slammed" or "If you don't know what you want to order, I will have to go to other tables and don't know when I will get back to yours" I just couldn't believe how horrible the attitude and customer service is. I don't care how busy or slammed you are, these are still paying customers. We are not paying to be rushed out or to have attitude towards. You should get it together, breath for a second and have some patients like your customers do when they have to wait for an hour and a half just to be waited on and then to get attitude from the servers because THEY are taking a long time and haven't even came to the table once. Will never be coming here again or referring anyone to this...
Read moreWe have been to this establishment a few times overr the past 1 1/2 years - bc it’s close , we like to support small businesses . and we see a lot of veterans in there (and we have paid for their breakfasts quite a few time - bc we aregreatful for their service ). This am we were seated by a young gentleman - half of the restaurant was closed off - there were 5 servers . Was walked past by several servers for 10 min- the young man that seated us asked if anyone got our drinks yet - we replied no - he asked us for our drinks and brought them - 4 tables that were seated AFTER us were welcomed - and orderstaken .. now we are waiting 18 minutes - another table seated directly behind us - server passes them and asks for their drink order - we get up to leave - I wait by the register - the manager comes and I proceed to tell him my expierence - he calls the server over who has our table - she is the SAME sever that had the table directly behind us - I state what happened - how not even an acknolwdgment - and how it was disrespectful and added insult to injury , that she acknowledged the table who LITERALLY just sat down next to us - and again walked by us Without an acknowledgement . Her response was - “well u got ur drinks - “ I replied - yes - we did only bc the young tman that sat us - walked past us after he sat a 3rd table that came in after us asked us if anyone took our drink order (after 10 min) - and we sat there another 8 minutes as she passed us at least 4-5 times … she shook her head and said - it wasn’t 10 min - I then pointed up to the cameras they have there - and said. Y don’t u guys review the cameras and then u tell me how many minutes - bc my husbdnas is a VERY patient , understanding man - , as I am - we realize the staff shortage , over worked employees etc - so so really make an effort to be polite , and patient when eating at restaurants - and for him to say that is it and walk out - that speaks volumes - that’s when she apologized - ohh n let me put it out there , this has happened to us before at this establishment. When my daughter came home from college , and we took her there - actually that time - we stood waiting to be seated for 9 minutes and no one came to seat us so we walked out .
This likely mom n pop establishment CLEARLY doesn’t value their customers and their attitudes and lack of any kind of welcoming atmosphere is contributing to the demise of small businesses such as this one…
After leaving there we went to first watch on southern blvd although being very busy - they were very welcoming - acknowledged us - and sat us in a timely manner - and the server was very nice , personable . The food was excellent - To end .. go spend ur money at a place that deserves ur...
Read moreWhat started off to be a nice Sunday morning with family ended up being one of the WORST experiences I’ve ever had dining out. My family and I came to Butterfield's for brunch after Sunday service at our church, that being said we had a large group of us. When I arrived I went ahead to let the host know how many of us there were. Immediately, upon entry the host was very rude. Didn’t say hello or how are you, not even a smile. Just “how many” I said hello and said there would be 9 of us, and she responded with a very audible sigh and said “well you’re gonna have to wait” she didn’t give a time or anything she just said to wait until she called our group. I was very understanding since I have worked in restaurants before and figured we would have to wait anyway because we had a larger group. So I said okay no problem and went outside to wait. As I looked around I could see there wasn’t many people in the restaurant so I was genuinely confused as to why the host was so anxious and rude but I decided to just do as she said because I genuinely don’t want to give her a hard time. Unfortunately, for me, I miss counted. Instead of 9 we had 11. So we politely asked if we could add an extra table for seating (there was at least 4-5 available tables and plenty of empty booths) but the host absolutely lost it and started freaking out that we counted wrong. She absolutely ruined our morning. I’ve never been treated so terribly for such a simple mistake. Thank fully one of the waitresses corrected the hostess and said it’s not a big deal if we add another table even helped give us extra seating and what not. I don’t usually make reviews but like I said, I’ve never had such a terrible experience in my life. The rest of the staff were very attentive and accommodating and I honestly felt embarrassed for them to have had to make up for the hostess’s behavior. The food was great and the bathrooms were clean. Will not be returning...
