After hearing some amazing things about Chelas, we decided to give them a try. We usually do Togo but decided to dine in. Our family ordered a big variety of food. Let's start with the chips and salsa...delicious salsa! Kids meal chicken tenders was very thin and crispy chicken. Steak fajitas didn't come with any toppings. Just rice and beans which I found odd. My daughter did ask for sour cream and they brought some. She rated it a 6 out of 10, steak was very well done but tortillas were delicious. Chicken quesadilla was amazing! My daughter almost ordered a second one. My mother had the taco salad. It was delicious she said and the shell was very fresh. I ordered the Birria Tacos, definitely a must try! I will go back just for these!!! We also ordered a mojito and strawberry margaritas. Both were good. The wait for the bill was long and they don't bring a printed receipt and waitress told me the total. I definitely didn't like this part. I highly suggest showing your customers the detailed bill. Especially when you order for a family of 6. Will definitely eat here again and try some more items. Hopefully next time it will be 5 🌟.
Side note: I saw some other reviews about a language issue, I didn't notice this at all. Everyone we talked to, spoke...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusting experience.
We came to this so-called “Mexican” restaurant with our daughters expecting a decent family meal — and left completely shocked and disgusted.
They served my kids rotten hamburgers. Not undercooked. Not dry. Rotten. Smelling bad. Spoiled. The “beef soup”? Just two chunks of straight fat floating in grease. No meat. Just fat. When we complained, they said “that’s how it comes.”
The horchata was pure sugar water — no cinnamon, no rice flavor, just liquid diabetes. The lemonade was even worse: not real lemon, not even close. It was that cheap gallon-style syrup pretending to be lemonade. Fake flavor, overly sweet, and disgusting.
Yes, the plates were big… but everything was low-quality, tasteless garbage.
The tortillas were burnt, the nacho salsa tasted like literal crap, and the only thing consistent was the total lack of care or standards.
When we told them the food was spoiled — especially for our kids — they didn’t apologize, they didn’t care. They just said: “You still have to pay.”
This place is a disgrace, not just to Mexican food but to hospitality in general. We left angry, disgusted, and with hungry kids.

Read morePoor service as soon as we walked in. Didn’t know where the hostess was when we walked in. Turns out we found her sitting with a group of people at one of the booth tables in the restaurant. When we wanted to order me and my boyfriend were just watching her talk away with the other folk in the booth table to the point where I had to say in Spanish “Señorita estamos listo para ordenar pero no se donde está mi mesera.” She responded back no worries I will let her know. I wasn’t sure if she put our orders in yet because I continued to see her talk to her friends. Poor service not attentive for the customer. I kept watching other customers coming in looking for the hostess he almost walked out. The tacos I ordered were gross the barbacoa in my taco was orange I never seen that before and I’m Hispanic myself I know what they usually look like, more of a brownish color is the correct way. My boyfriends fajitas were gross too wasn’t sure if I was eating something other than chicken it didn’t taste like chicken. The rice and beans weren’t good either. The refried beans tasted so salty, I can tell they came out of a can. Never again...
