China King Chinese Food — Restaurant in Royal Palm Beach

We’ve been ordering from China King Royal Palm Beach about twice a month since moving here in June 2024. For a family of six, finding a place everyone actually agrees on is basically a miracle, but this one continues to make the cut.

We usually stick with the Family Pack B — Wonton Soup, Shrimp Fried Rice, Sesame Chicken, and Roast Pork Lo Mein — because it’s consistently good and feeds the whole crew without complaints. We throw in a Pu Pu Platter and a Sweet & Sour Chicken dinner (with Vegetable Fried Rice and White Rice) to round it out. It’s a solid lineup that hasn’t failed us yet. We also add other good dishes when we have more than six people here, but honestly, the meal above is enough to feed us dinner and lunch again the next day. It's a lot of good food.

After spending 75.00 for a family dinner, I began handing out everyone's food and found both orders of Sweet and sour chicken were dark brown and burnt all the way through. I tried to break open one of them and it was rock solid. Bourbon chicken was completely dry and all 5 egg rolls were burnt inside and out. I was on the phone with the "manager" because the owner was on vacation, and instead of taking responsibility, I was told that the same order for other customers just went out and no one else complained. The excuses did not stop there, I was told that when the oil gets older, it turns everything brown. I understand the difference in color and something that is rock hard and solid throughout. As if I have never ordered or prepared food before. For your information, your consumers are not idiots. We do not want excuses or lessons in Chinese food preparation. Please just make it right. To top it off, they would not refund the order unless I brought the food back. We have spent THOUSANDS of dollars at this place and it has been hit or miss, but this was the first time we were absolutely disgusted with the product, and the fact that to responsibility was taken, they have lost a...

Where to begin with this... I feel it's false advertisement saying authentic "NY Style". I ordered three items. House special fried rice 2 stars, fantail shrimp 0 stars, and wonton eggdrop soup 1.5 stars. Wonton was to dense, fantail shrimp was over battered and still undercooked in the middle. It was more of a zeppole with a little piece of shrimp inside. Growing up in Queens NY. The NY Style fantail shrimp had a piece of roast pork, and the shrimp was butterflied open. Then a light crisp coating. The house special fried rice had shrimp, pork, and chicken. It could have been seasoned a bit better. 30 dollars is way to much for this.
