we have been here three times so far and have really been enjoying it however, have noticed a few different things over the last couple of visits.
the food tastes good and the counter staff and servers are always friendly. their orange juice is delicious and they have a great drip coffee (highly recommend their medium roast with hints of maple syrup)
the kitchen seems to back up very quickly. they’re busy and that’s great for the business but they simply can not keep up. last weekend, we were told before ordering that food would take approximately 30 minutes. we weren’t in a rush so we ordered anyway. we waited 45 minutes for our food and upon receiving it, everything was cold and had to be taken back to the kitchen. we weren’t upset with the wait time, but to wait that long AND receive cold food didn’t exactly sit right with us. they did rectify it and brought the hot food back out as quickly as they could.
we came back this morning and we both observed the expeditor comb through his beard and touch his ears and hair with his gloved hands on at least 3 separate occasions. he didn’t replace his gloves or wash his hands after.
while we were placing our order, this same expeditor came up to the young girl taking our order and proceeded to be extremely rude to her to the point that she was near tears. “are you still selling waffles? i told you over 20 minutes ago that we are down a waffle iron and to stop selling them!!! we are backing up!!!!!” she was clearly apologetic and knew that she made an error but for a grown man to take that tone with a high school aged girl, who is handling a line wrapped out the front door with a smile on her face… we were shocked. it also isn’t her fault that a waffle iron went down OR that your entire kitchen is backing up. waffles aren’t the only thing backed up in your kitchen. even if there was a behavior that needed to be corrected, or a mistake that needed to be addressed, there is a time and a place to have those conversations as well as an appropriate tone of voice to take when handling a situation like this, especially with young staff. neither of which should be done in front of guests.
both my husband and i have years of experience in the food industry, my husband still works in restaurants and can say with absolute certainty that we observed behaviors from this expeditor(maybe manager?) that were outright unacceptable.
kudos to this young lady who kept her composure as best as she could. she was clearly flustered and a little bit embarrassed after the encounter but she remained as composed as possible. she was (and still is, as i write this review) doing a great job handling the crowd in a positive manner. if she needs a job with a respectful manager, my husband would happily hire her :)
today the food took 25 minutes. we got a five & dime sandwich & five and dime tacos. food was warm and everything...
Read moreI came into Maples Street Biscuit with high expectations, especially since it was packed on a Sunday morning—it looked like a good sign. Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The whole thing was a mess: long waits, subpar food, unprofessional staff, and a manager who seemed completely checked out.
On Sunday, October 27, I joined the long line and was told by the cashier it’d be a 20-minute wait. Given how busy they were, this seemed reasonable. But after 30 minutes, I started noticing people who had ordered before me getting their food. Then, a family sitting next to me got served within five minutes of ordering. I kept asking about my order, but no one had any answers for me. After an hour—an hour—I finally gave up and asked for a refund, which they reluctantly processed.
Despite all that, I decided to give them a second chance on Monday, hoping maybe Sunday was just too chaotic for them. This time, I ordered online to avoid waiting around. I placed my order at 11:11 a.m. with a pickup time of 11:35. I got there at 11:40, only to find my order still wasn’t ready—despite there being only two other customers in the restaurant. When I asked about it, the cashier informed me, very casually, that my online order “never created a ticket.” Annoyed, I watched her call the manager, who was outside on the phone, laughing and having a good time. No uniform, no name tag—honestly, I wouldn’t have known he was the manager if she hadn’t told me.
He offered to refund my money and promised to make my food right away. I sat back down, hoping maybe they’d redeem themselves, but when the food came out, it was cold. The scrambled eggs were overcooked, and, disgustingly, there was a hair on my waffle. I didn’t even bother to complain because, at that point, they’d already refunded me. Meanwhile, I could hear the manager and the cashier arguing loudly about something at the counter.
Before I left, I checked my bank account to confirm the refund, and it showed up. But an hour later, the charge was back. When I called the restaurant, the manager gave me some story about a “software issue” and said they’d fix it by the end of the day. Well, two days later, and I’m still waiting.
Maples Street Biscuit has potential, but it’s clear no one there has a clue about customer service or organization. The kitchen staff didn’t even wear hairnets, the manager seemed completely out of touch, and the whole system was a disaster. Honestly, they should close for a couple of days, train the staff properly, and figure out how to actually run...

On Friday (11/8/24), we had the pleasure of visiting The Maple Biscuit Company in RPB for the first time.
We arrived early, around 7:45 am, and noticed that the place wasn’t busy, so we approached the counter after reviewing the menu and placed our order.
We mentioned to the gentleman who took our order that it was our first visit, and he was incredibly helpful, offering many suggestions about the food. He kindly advised my husband against adding an egg to one of their best sellers. When I placed my order, he suggested having the egg prepared “over easy” so that the yolk could mix with the gravy, which sounded delightful. We decided to follow all of his recommendations and ordered a sharing size of smashed hash browns along with the unlimited coffee bar, spending a total of $39 on our meals.
The dining space was very pleasant and clean, with a well-stocked drink area. After sitting down with our order number, we found ourselves waiting for a while. It became apparent that others who arrived after us were receiving their food promptly, which led us to wonder about the status of our order.
When our food finally arrived, everything looked appetizing. We had ordered The Squawking Goat (with added bacon) and The Five and Dime to share. The Squawking Goat was fantastic, with fresh and hot chicken straight from the fryer. However, The Five and Dime was served colder than we had anticipated, and my egg was fried rather than prepared over easy, as requested. Still, it was all very flavorful—the gravy was well-seasoned, and the biscuit was nice and soft. The smashed hash browns were essentially latkes, but we found them to be a bit thin and greasy, lacking in flavor and seasoning. They might not be something we would choose again. On a positive note, the coffee selection at the drink station was good, and the black coffee we chose was smooth and enjoyable.
Additionally, we wanted to mention the older woman working in the dining room—she was so kind and attentive, checking in on everyone during their visit. She even took the time to clean up empty plates, going above and beyond expectations. We felt it was only right to leave her a tip as she truly enhanced our experience.
We look forward to eventually returning to Maple Street, as we enjoyed the food and would like to explore more of the...
