Either Prejudice or No Customer Ettiquette. I don't normally do ratings but this could not be ignored. We just went in for lunch about 2hrs ago & was completely ignored. No one greeted us, 1table had 4whi guys, 1 table had 1whi guy, basically empty & slow. Although not busy, my friend & I walked in & even an employee was conversing with two guys at the bar, one waiter came from the back to bring the other customers food, another waiter came behind the bar & went back 2the back, they both left the area again & no one ever greeted us or said, they'll be with us in a minute. Maybe they just don't have proper customer etiquette training, maybe they didn't want to serve black women, or maybe they just didn't care. Anyone who says great service & feeling welcome must be Cuban and/or relatives or regular customers. After giving the waiters the benefit of the doubt; thinking maybe one of them will come over, we waited at least 10-15min. No such luck so we proceeded to walk out & they watched us & heard us saying how we felt ignored & not one employee said a word or even tried to apologize. Nevertheless, we never ate becz we were never approached, greeted, or served & yet still this place left a bad taste in my mouth. Will NEVER...

This place is total trash.

First time I went with my husband. We sat for 20 minutes while we watched the waitresses and kitchen staff chit chat amongst themselves. Not a single person came to us, not even to offer a glass of water. As we walked out the door, someone called out but we went elsewhere.

2nd time I went with a friend. The waitress tried to hype it all up talking about best in the world. I ordered the lechon sandwich which was mediocre at best. The pork was so dry, like it’d been sitting under a light for too long. The bread was hard and dry. I choked down half the sandwich and didn’t bother with the rest. My friend’s Cuban sandwich was pretty good tho. Oh we ordered fried yucca to share and asked for sauce. These people, I kid you not, literally tossed the jarred garlic purée in a little bowl like it was some majestic concoction. Smh.

I will never in my life go there again. I would never ever recommend this place, not even for a cafecito. I’d rather drive to southern and hit either don Ramon’s or the don cafe...

The place is now called El Sitio... I saw it advertised on Facebook... it's near our home.... they have a very bakery. They also had a sit down area. My wife and I had dinner this past Wednesday. The seating available were metal tables and chairs... I felt that tables were to close...while having dinner I was bumped a few times by other customers that needed to get by...As for food, I ordered the churrasco dinner... now presentation was good.... however it was missing the chimichurri sauce.... I asked the for it and was told that they didn't have any...the rice and beans were on point but the Steak was too thick and hard to chew...also I requesteda a medium well and got a medium rare still bleeding. Needless to say I didn't enjoy my dinner...when the server came to pick up the plates, she noticed that the steak was hardly eaten and asked if everything was ok...I'm not one to complain I simply told her that the steak was not the best and that was our experience. Will I go there again well ... maybe for lunch or...

Wow I know we went there later in the afternoon about a half an hour before closing time the Cuban sandwich that I got was so freaking dry, hold them I like the pickles and there was two pickles on the whole sandwich It was so dry I could barely choke it down. I had my husband try a bite and he said the same. They were out of all of the specials except for lentil soup which we tried and was good but extremely salty. Well I don't want to be "that person" I was a bit upset that there was no one including our waitress but really understood English or could even answer our simple questions like "What time of the day do you run out of empanadas?" So all in all, I will not be going back there and if you do go, I suggest that you get there early, they were out of all of the specials except soup, out of black beans. Very nice and cute atmosphere but the food left more to be desired.

I drive by here almost daily, and it always seems to be busy for breakfast. I decided to finally stop in as I was looking for something a little different this morning. It is your perfect little hole in the wall. I had the most perfect cup of iced coffee that the very sweet waitress/bartender/barista (?) made for me. It was THE BEST I’ve ever had. I then had the Dominican breakfast. It was absolutely delicious!! It was a HUGE portion and there was no way I’d ever be able to finish all of it, but I sure tried!! Every bit of it was perfect. I’m so glad I stopped to try it! I will definitely be back. The only downside of the restaurant is that it’s very small, no real decor/style, not a lot of personality in the building. It’s just a typical hole in the wall with amazing coffee, delicious food, and awesome staff. Thank you for an amazing breakfast experience! :)

Great food. Especially for Cuban coffee (expresso) & cuisine! We wanted something for breakfast other than your traditional American breakfast and Casa Santiago didn’t disappoint. The customers were friendly and seemed to know each other. The waitress was helpful with picking our orders. The building is a bit old and run down. But ya go there for the food and fellowship anyways!
