I would suggest everyone be very cautious when eating at Linh’s in Russellville. I ordered Pho and when I got home after I mixed everything and poured everything into the bowl I realized my pork was raw. I took the pork out to show the raw pork and take it back so may food could be replaced. When I got back the lady tried to tell me the pork was cooked because she cooked it herself and then argue with me and tell me I don’t know what raw pork looks like because that’s not raw. There was one piece that was cooked. When I showed her the difference she laughed and said so what do you want? I said I just want the food replaced. SHE WANTED TO TAKE MY RAW PORK AND GO COOK IT SO I COULD TAKE IT HOME AND EAT IT WITH THE REST OF MY COOKED FOOD THAT HAD RAW PORK ALL IN IT. Her excuse was I didn’t bring the giant bowl of pho back so I could be eating it. Why on earth would I want to eat food that had been touched by raw pork? On top of all that I witnessed unsealed refrigerated products in recycled yellow and white plastic Walmart/Dollar General bags be transported out of the bed of a truck in an Arkansas summer into the restaurant. I’ve had a National food safety license for 10 years and have never been that appalled at the food safety in a restaurant. I get mistakes happen but do not try to tell me the raw pork in my hand is cooked when I’m also holding cooked pork in...
Read moreIf you're a fan of Vietnamese / Southeast Asian food, you'll find Linh's to be a cut above the rest. I'm a lifelong ultra-foodie who's had my share of both small town and big city SE Asian restaurants, and this one tops them all. One of those true Mom and Pop jewels you hear about, that becomes the stuff of legend among the locals. Yep, this is the real deal.
Don't let the no-frills decor fool you, because the food is top-notch, and the service is kind and friendly. The pho is what they're known for and it's simply THE best anywhere, and served in huge portions. But, it doesn't stop there! The Vietnamese bbq pork, spring rolls, egg rolls and dipping sauces are amazing. There are dozens of rice or vermicelli entree plate choices in chicken, pork, beef or shrimp, and they're glad to adjust the spiciness to your liking. There are even several vegetarian options to choose from.
My wife recently took her "fast food only" friend for dinner, and she totally loved the new, wonderful flavors and textures. Likewise, if you like typical Chinese buffet fare and are looking for something a bit different, look no further. My most hardcore foodie friends love it, and so do their not-so-foodie family members! You won't go wrong with Linh's, it's a real game changer!
Oh, and don't forget the great selection of authentic Asian food...
Read moreI don’t know exactly what I was expecting, but based on the reviews I expected some amazingly good food. It was…okay. Not bad. There wasn’t anything that I absolutely wouldn’t eat, although that curry came close.
The egg rolls were mediocre. They had a great texture and initial flavor, and then. . . Bland. Chicken fried rice was okay, though the chicken had a very weird pink dye on it. The curry was very sweet, which was not what I was expecting.
We explained to our waitress that we had never eaten Vietnamese food and didn’t know what to expect. She was very friendly and made some recommendations, but didn’t know how to explain the flavors. She couldn’t compare what we were ordering to other foods. She didn’t mention that the curry would be sweet or that the bahn mi would be covered in what is essentially Cole slaw (a food I don’t really care for).
Also, the sodas come in cans, so no free refills.
I asked for a to-go container for the rest of the curry (I couldn’t stand to eat much of it, but that’s a personal taste issue, I think). She brought me a large to-go cup. Pouring a curry from a bowl to a large cup is quite messy.
Overall, I probably wouldn’t recommend this place unless you’re a fan of Vietnamese food and know what you’re getting in to. If you’re not, just get the chicken fried rice. You’re probably...
