Mixed emotions on how to rate this: torn between 4 or 5 stars. The place is in an older house and is clean and well decorated. The room with the jail cell doors is cute and quirky! They take cash or card and you order and pay before you are seated. The burger choices are on wanted signs hanging on the wall, and most rum about $10-12 for the burger with a side. We both had seasoned fries: crinkle cut fries cooked perfectly with seasoning salt on them. My husband had the mushroom burger amd loved it. I had the Marshall, which is 2 patties, 2 cheeses, bacon and a scoop of pulled pork bbq. Food took a little bit to come out, but we didn't mind the wait because the staff are very friendly and everything came out hot and fresh and the burgers are real patties--they didnt seem to be frozen or pre-made. They even use real (glass) plates, bowls and metal silverware and you are seated at a table, not a booth. They have the best prices on drinks: $1.25 for a 20 ounce Styrofoam that you can get refills on (Pepsi products). Here is where my confusion on my review lies. We spent $28 on food for 2 (competitive prices), and everything tasted amazing. But, we both left hungry. The mushroom burger is a small burger! So, we will be back, and we loved the flavor, but I don't think this is the place if you are "big" hungry (unless you order...
Read moreDon't let this little hole in the wall fool you. The atmosphere isn't fancy, being an old home place that has been several other types of businesses in years past. It now has an old Western, Christian infused theme. The menu is western themed as well. The gourmet burgers have names such as "Butch and Sundance", "The Outlaw", "Death Valley" and the one I tried "Jack's Ranch", among others. They offer an assortment of sides from fries with optional toppings, onion rings, mac & cheese, and others. I had a hard time deciding which burger to get. The service was excellent even though there was only one lady taking orders and serving, on this particular evening. She was friendly and informative of the menu items. She even let us sample the "Gates of Hell" hot sauce that comes on their "Death Valley" burger, which is spicy with a very nice smokey hint. The burger was juicy and packed full of flavor. The fries with beer cheese was absolutely delicious. I expected it to be like a nacho cheese but the flavor was so unique and pleasantly suprising! I highly recommend trying this little burger place. We will be back often. I want to try almost every...
Read moreThe hamburgers themselves are high quality. The chef obviously knows what he is doing with regard to execution and presentation. However, he utilizes a sugary sweet marinade for all of his hamburgers, regardless of if it makes sense or not. So, without fail, expect your hamburger to taste sweet. Personally, I HATE that. I don't want sugar within a mile of my hamburger. I intend to order again and request a burger WITHOUT that nasty syrup marinade. I might alter my review based on the results.
There are more problems though. Beware the "beer cheese", I have no idea how he makes it, BUT it tastes pretty much exactly like gas station nacho cheese. Cheap and nasty. Additionally, the chili is bland and virtually meatless. The “loaded” (chicken) nuggets were obviously grocery store flavorless lumps.
Overall, I think this restaurant could possibly be quite good, but I think it will require the current chef to realize that he has made some polarizing choices, and...
