I give Paisano's one star not because of the food, but because of the terrible service we received from one of their servers they have working there. My friend from the jersey shore and her daughter with special needs came for a visit. My daughter and I took them to Paisano's bc it's our go-to place for special occasions. I’ve been going to Paisano’s for 20 years and have always enjoyed the food and experience while I was there. We left our husbands at home, but we were planning on bringing them home dinner from there as well bc we wanted a girls night.
When we got there at 6 pm, the server wasn’t friendly from the beginning. He never told us the specials, so we ordered off the menu. There was only one other table there, who happened to be sitting next to us, when we then overheard him minutes later going to the table next to us, much more chipper, and gave them the specials. When he was finished with that table, we asked to hear the specials since he never told us. He first said that he just found out about the specials and then told us what they were. We declined anything from the specials, he snarkily replied that it was too late anyway because our order was in and sauntered away.
Throughout the evening, he never checked on us, never gave us any feelings of being welcomed. He unfriendly that we wanted to leave bc we felt uncomfortable. We ended up staying but decided to pick up our husband’s meals at a restaurant a few doors down instead.
I called the restaurant a day or two later and relayed our experience to their manager. He told me that this server was one of their longest, best servers. I stated behavior towards us put a damper on the experience of eating there and after that, I will go to the many other Italian restaurants on Park that would be happy to have our business. The manager said he would give us free coffee the next time we came. I repeated that I wasn’t going back bc of his behavior/ our experience s he suggested speaking with the owner. I spoke briefly with the owner, who said he would call me back, then never did. I will take my...
Read moreThis was hands down the worst Italian meal I’ve ever had. Let me break down everything I ordered and why it was a complete letdown.
Total bill: $143
Calamari with ginger sauce I don’t know why I ordered this. I smoked before coming and was excited to eat. I knew it wasn’t Italian, but I figured why not. Big mistake. The calamari was bland and the ginger sauce didn’t belong anywhere near it. I didn’t finish it—I sent it back.
Rice balls Not terrible, not good. Just mid. I threw some feta on it and that actually made it decent. 5/10 without feta, better with it.
Feta Not Italian, but somehow the best thing they had. 10/10.
Oxtail ragù rigatoni Bland as hell, which is wild considering it was made with oxtail. I only ate it because I was high and hungry. I’m Latin, and even I could tell it tasted more like a cheap Latin dish than Italian. 5/10 and that’s me being nice.
Carbonara This wasn’t carbonara. It was a salty, confused dish trying to fake it. Didn’t finish it. 2/10—for effort, I guess.
Drinks Fine. No complaints.
Dessert Didn’t trust them anymore. Got dessert somewhere else.
Final thoughts This is the kind of place you take someone you don’t like. An in-law, maybe someone you’re cutting off. That Asian calamari mess needs to go. And I swear I wish I had gone to Olive Garden instead. At least there, carbonara is actually carbonara and I wouldn’t feel robbed.
If I had known what this was gonna be, I would’ve gone literally anywhere else on the strip.
Will I return? No. Will I talk about this again? No. I feel like I got mugged, and my brain’s already trying to...
Read moreDinner at Paisano's place was empty still had to wait 15 minutes for a table was seated had to wait another 10 minutes for a waiter to bring us water the menu limited to expensive meals for the most part had nothing to do with Italian cuisine no traditional pasta dishes no eggplant no lasagna no penne even the spaghetti was $22 .. The Decour was old I ordered tomatoes with mozzarella and the balsamic glaze what I got was tomatoes with very old mozzarella it was almost like shoe leather and the balsamic glaze was nothing more than balsamic dressing the salad we ordered was stated as having goat cheese cranberries walnuts etc. it was missing the walnuts in the cranberries, very little goat cheese .
For dinner we ordered the mushroom and shrimp dish the dish had no flavor the shrimps were very hard and overcooked and tasteless .. The rib & regatta gnocchi dish tasted reheated the gnocchi were tiny and overwhelmed by the heavy greasy sauce which continue to repeat on me for several hours my first impression walking into this place and looking at the old weathered ceramic floor in the entranceway and the expense of prices on the menu I wanted to turn around and leave however the weather was so bad that night I elected to roll a dice I will never come back to this establishment again the food was of poor value and the service just not up to snuff I don't know how in the world this place rates for an a half stars it's beyond me maybe you need to read between the lines they may be getting a little help from their friends you know like the...
