This place seems to have really gone downhill. We've been coming here from time to time for 3 years, but tonight when we came for my sister's birthday, the whole experience was terrible. If you have Hibachi, you have the option to have either fried rice, steamed rice, or noodles. When ordering, my brother-in-law and sister ordered a hibachi meal with double fried rice instead of/no veggies; no problem. But when I ordered my Hibachi, I wanted double noodles instead of veggies/no veggies at all and my sister-in-law wanted the same but with steamed rice, and our server flat out said no, that we couldn't do that and that it automatically came with veggies and we couldn't substitute it with double noodles/steamed rice. So someone can order Hibachi with double fried rice as a substitute for no veggies, but they can't do that with steamed rice or noodles? That makes zero sense! And even though she was smiling the whole time, you could tell her demeanor was very smug. And then when our chef came to our table to cook our food, we made some friendly chitchat with him and asked how long he has been doing Hibachi cooking. He said 2 days and he straight up admitted to us that he didn't like his job and didn't want to be there. He also cooked our food very quickly and left the table like he was rushing to be out of there, he didn't put on a performance for us or nothing, very obvious that we were inconveniencing him; fastest hibachi service I've ever had in my life for the wrong reasons. Our food tonight was also not too great, it was so dry and stale tasting. We were so appalled that our meal, plus an automatic $43 tip, the ticket was almost $300! After that appalling experience with the combination of the sky high prices now on their menu, it's no wonder why there was hardly anybody dining in the place, especially at 5 p.m. in the evening. If this place is being run like this now, they're gonna end up putting themselves out of business. I don't know if this place brought in new management or if they had an ownership change, but we will not be coming back here ever again. Better off eating at Arby's for our...
Read moreBefore we arrived I called to make sure they weren't super busy and we could get seated, they originally said if I was there before or at 630 we could get a table at the hibachi otherwise it would be an extremely long wait (did eventually specify there was a large party coming in) anyway, we arrived later than 630 but were fine to be seated in the dine in. Service was fantastic until it came to our food. I ordered 2 combination chicken and steak, one medium and one medium rare for my boyfriend, he didn't know what he wanted lol. The food arrives and it was 3 plates instead of 2 and they kept switching his out with one that very much wasn't his and settled on one and without hesitation he began eating. Not long after the waitresses behind us at the register proceeded to literally start screaming at one another, I of course being nosey listen and they were mad about the order coming to the wrong table and gesture to us. Which I quickly look at my boyfriends plate and realize that the chicken was missing from the plate. They were fighting about the food being sent to the wrong table. I could get my mind past that until they proceeded to "check on us" while eyeballing my boyfriends plate. Instead of asking about it, they were acting very unprofessional, eventually one of the servers who was not our original waitresses came by to get the information about what he originally ordered and realized it wasn't our order. She said they would fix the mistake in the computer which wasn't done, which isn't an issue. My main problem is the management, owner or whoever needs to learn to respect her wait staff that was extremely unprofessional and I couldn't have been the only person to witness and as we were leaving the same manager proceeded to seat a larger party ahead of a smaller party who had been waiting longer. Im assuming due to them generating more revenue. We quickly realized we would not be going back. The food was decent, not at all what we requested the steak to be cooked at, it was all well done and over cooked. It was disappointing since we went for a nice dinner for...
Read moreThe food at Osaka was ok but it was seasoned to perfection, and most of the staff were very nice, but I had a few observations I'd like to share in the hope that it gets to the right people so they can improve on these mostly minor issues.
Nowhere to stand while waiting for your table. Literally smashed together in a tiny hallway with nowhere to turn to, but this happens in a lot of restaurants. We also had a reservation and still had to wait 30 minutes to be seated, but I know hibachi is a balancing act.
Sticky feel on all seats, including the baby chair. Everything needs to be wiped down daily, especially in this day and age. I asked for something to wipe it off with and someone who eas working thrte proceeded to hand me a dirty dish rag and didn't ever offer to fo it for me! Maybe it's due to them cooking or something bc the walls, chairs and floor feel the same way.
Our hibachi chef was ok, but he really didn't interact with us very much. It's very different at the other hibachi restaurant across town. They make it a point to involve us!
We ordered lo mein for our daughter, and it appeared to be a package of Ramen noodles. Not traditional lo mein noodles or even normal Ramen. I looked up their menu, and it appears they don't offer lo mein. So that should have been mentioned to us by our server when we ordered lo mein. Very disappointing.
It looked like the food was being extremely portioned, and most places do that, but not to that extent. We received half of the amount of food we've experienced at other hibachi type restaurants. It was very...
