If there were a gastronomic purgatory, Chipotle would be its undisputed sovereign. The moment I crossed the threshold, I was assaulted by an ambiance that can only be described as a sterile void, devoid of any warmth or charm. The decor, if one could even call it that, seemed to be a chaotic amalgamation of industrial bleakness and half-hearted attempts at hipster chic.
The line, snaking interminably like a river of despair, moved at the pace of a sloth with a broken spirit. When I finally reached the counter, the sullen, disinterested staff member greeted me with all the enthusiasm of a soggy piece of toast. Each ingredient, as it was plopped unceremoniously into my burrito, looked like it had endured a long and arduous journey from mediocrity to outright disappointment.
The rice, which should be a fluffy bed of carb-laden comfort, was a mushy catastrophe, with each grain seemingly engaged in a miserable union with its neighbors. The beans, a staple of any decent burrito, were a study in flavorless mush, offering a texture reminiscent of damp cardboard. The meat, ostensibly the star of the show, was a travesty of overcooked, under-seasoned sadness that left me questioning the very nature of culinary decency.
As I ventured further into this abomination, the guacamole – that sacred green nectar – revealed itself to be a bland, pasty imitation of its glorious potential. It was as if an avocado had been stripped of its soul and left to wallow in mediocrity. The salsa, purportedly fresh, tasted like it had been concocted by someone who had never encountered a real tomato or spice in their life.
The pièce de résistance of this culinary catastrophe was the tortilla itself. Rather than a soft, pliable wrap, it was a dry, lifeless husk that crumbled at the mere hint of moisture, spilling its lamentable contents onto the tray with a finality that echoed my dashed hopes.
To add insult to injury, my experience was further marred by the drive-thru attendant, a woman whose rudeness was so profound it could have soured even the sweetest of dispositions. She was incredibly short with me, barking my order back in a tone that implied I was wasting her precious time. The food she handed me looked like it had been left out for days, a sad, wilted mess that only confirmed my worst fears.
In summary, Chipotle is a masterclass in culinary disappointment, a temple of tastelessness where dreams of a satisfying meal go to die. Avoid it as you would a pit of ravenous vipers, for to dine here is to subject oneself to an experience so profoundly unenjoyable, it borders on the metaphysical. If Dante had foreseen Chipotle, he would have reserved a special circle of Hell for...
Read moreWhen they announced that they were opening a Chipotle in Saco people were so excited! I FINALLY went in today and literally was in shock at the state of the brand new restaurant. The glass sneeze guards covering the food were splattered with cheese and beans, and every inch of the glass was greasy. There was a full dust pan in the middle of the hallway walking in through the back, the AM shift report was just out on the counter, the guacamole was brown, I didn’t see this until after I asked for my order, and unsurprisingly it was also sour. I should mention I arrived at 11:35am to a note printed and taped to the door saying they couldn’t open until 11:30, so this was 5 minutes after opening. There is absolutely no care put into this place at all. It is really sad when you look up and see the new build and can tell that the building has just come up with the state of the ceiling, but everything eye level and down already looks worn down, dirty, and disgusting. The soda cooler on the guest facing side had 4 bottles in it, was almost fully empty, and was filthy with shredded cheese, crumpled tin foil, and crumpled receipts.
The girl who made my bowl for me literally did not say 1 single word to me and got my order wrong. I asked for it to be corrected and she put the lid on and threw it down on the counter and walked away. The cashier charged me $17 for a bowl stating that I had double protein which is fully not what I ordered and unfortunately I did not have time to dispute this because I needed to get to an appointment. The cook had his shirt tied up into his apron and his bum was out for all to see, which I understand and would not necessarily judge anyone on an embarrassing mistake or wardrobe malfunction, but it speaks to the absolute lack of care that anyone in that building had. The last thing I would like to bring up, the gentlemen working the line had a rather large open wound on his right arm that was uncovered. I don’t know if they do not have a manager, or if the manager is learning or what but I cannot believe that a franchised business would allow its name to be dragged this hard from a brand new location. I am so disappointed and will actually never return to the Saco location. The heaps of trash including a used homemade bong from a plastic bottle was a welcoming site in the parking lot, I just never imagined that it would have looked safer to consume than the food being served...
Read moreI shouldn’t been talked to like that. He should’ve been clear on his communication. He shouldn’t have been talking to me the way he came at me and he should’ve been training his employers it was their error. They can’t speak English. They didn’t explain things to me. I all I know is I ordered a children’s thing and when I got up there, it was $15 And I didn’t know why she was throwing everything on the side because all I said is put my tortillas on the side. It was Nuts so I asked him. Please explain to me. This is my second time I’ve ever been here, but the bottom line problem is that he has not trained his employees and they cannot speak English yet he spoke to me the way that he did and he didn’t. He wasn’t even good at communication in English so he just started bringing stuff up without explaining even though I said this is my second time ever here. Complaint Regarding Poor Service and Manager Conduct at Chipotle Today I visited Chipotle and ordered a kids taco with tortillas on the side. The employee who helped me did not speak English well enough to answer my questions. When I asked about the price of an extra tortilla, she could not explain it. The manager then came out, but instead of clarifying or helping, he spoke to me in a demeaning way. This was only my second time visiting Chipotle, and I expected clear communication, especially about what items were available. For example, the fajita vegetables I received on my first visit were not available this time, but no alternatives were offered. Instead, I was told if I added more beans, I would be charged extra, even though I wasn’t given proper options. The manager’s tone made me feel humiliated and as though I was at fault for asking questions. This is unacceptable. Employees should be trained to explain menu options clearly, and managers should communicate respectfully with customers. Instead, I left feeling embarrassed, frustrated, and disrespected. I value hard-working employees regardless of language, but the issue here was the manager’s poor communication, lack of customer service, and dismissive attitude. This experience was discouraging and does not reflect the standard I expect...
