Dumpling Yo! — Restaurant in Sacramento

I went to Tamashii for the first time right around when they opened and have almost exclusively gotten my ramen fix from them since. I have a bit of an addiction to ramen and find myself ordering take out at least once a week and have ordered a tonkotsu bowl from Tamashii through doordash or caviar too many times to count at this point, it is easily the best tonkotsu bowl in Sacramento right now.. and I have tried every place I can find.. On Friday I knew I was going to be in the area so for the first time in almost a year I ordered pick up instead of delivery. When I arrived I received a warm greeting from both employees, they asked me my name and when I told them they responded with how excited they were to finally meet me. They thanked me for my loyalty through the pandemic and presented me with an appetizer on them. It was the most amazing service experience I have ever had. I was having the worst day I’ve had in a long time on Saturday and my friend (who was kind enough to help me) were looking for a place to eat. He mentioned dumplings and it immediately sounded good, his usual spot was closed for the night, so we came to Dumpling Yo! And we’re floored by how delicious everything is! You will wait for your food but it’s worth it in my opinion. (the wait wasn’t terrible, but you can tell that the food here is made to order by the quality.) we had the pork soup dumplings which were just what I needed, literal perfection! We had the Shanghai fried noodles that were thicc bois but also perfectly cooked and seasoned, and hearty as hell. We ordered the dry-fry string beans which were perfectly spicy, crunchy but cooked, they were delicious! We had the wontons in chili oil and then lastly the egg tarts that are made in house—everything was beautifully cooked, tasted amazing, and really helped me feel much better overall. Thanks to fellow YE David L. for putting this restaurant in my radar. I love soup dumplings. We placed an order over the phone for pick up, so this is strictly for "Carry out" experience.

Soup Dumplings was pretty good. Definitely a dish that I prefer to eat at the restaurant when it's still steamy hot. Good amount of soup and nice texture. The fried rice was too dry and lacking flavor. The noodles was decent but not enough cabbage/veggies. The scallion pancake is thinner version, which I like. I think they used the wrong type of bun for the meat buns. It was like eating an english muffin.

The disappointed part was that they forgot to give us the sauce for the dumplings and pancakes, which is kind of essential when you are eating those two dishes.
