IF YOU ORDERED KUNG POW NOODLES ON 9/17/2020 AND KEPT BITING DOWN ON SOMETHING GRAINY IT WAS GLASS.
We tried to call the restaurant to let them know because this is a major safety issue and their number keeps going to voicemail, which is why I shared on here. I am all about second chances, but eating glass is not okay and I can never eat here again. Plus, anyone who ate here on 9/17/2020 needs to know that we had glass in our food.
The photo is the largest piece we could recover from my mouth. I have no clue why there was glass in the noodles and why on earth it was so finely ground up, but it's not okay.
Here's what happened: We ordered from Golden Dragon for the second time ever last night because it was so good the first time we tried it last week. I was planning on leaving a review and calling it the best chinese food we have had locally, but then last night we ordered the same stuff and first of all, it wasn't as good as the first time and second of all, there were pieces of glass in the noodles.
Last night, I kept feeling something grainy in the noodles on and off while my partner and I were eating. It felt like there were small clusters of fine sand in some bites. I thought it was maybe something like pepper that hasn't been ground fine enough in the sauce. Since we couldn't see anything when we inspected the bites of noodles before we ate them, we thought that maybe the sauce wasn't heated up enough (maybe the sugar or other ingredients weren't broken down all the way or something).
Well we just had some left overs for a late lunch and I had the biggest gritty bite with larger pieces that hurt my teeth, so I stopped and spit it out to see what the heck it was because it hurt my teeth. It was glass. We unknowingly ate glass twice since last night and we're so upset about it. I immediately drank a ton of citrus metamucil to try to help my body process the glass and it burned my throat to drink, which means I have micro cuts in my throat.
My partner had the brilliant idea to toss the largest piece of glass in a pan to confirm that it was indeed glas and we weren't freaking out for no reason. If it were to melt then we could chill out because it was just some kind of organic material (food maybe not cooked all the way), but it didn't melt. We had it on high in the pan for a while and it didn't melt which means it wasn't plastic either. Definitely glass.
I have no idea what happened in that kitchen, but the size of this glass definitely seems like somehow it wound up in a blender with food. I don't know how else it would get so small and that there would be so much of it all throughout the entire...
Read moreIf I could leave zero stars I would. Normally I don’t have a problem getting my order when ordering online. There have been few times where I’ve come to pick up my order and they ID me or ask for proof of purchase no problem. On Wednesday, I ordered per usual it was actually my second time ordering in the week. I go in to pick up my order and greeted by Jennifer who asked for my name and order number. I gave her the information requested and she immediately asked for my ID. I told her I didn’t have it but did have proof of purchase and repeated my order to her. She denied me access to my order and said go home and get your ID. I explained that I lived too far to double back and would not be. I asked for my order after providing proof of service and the receipt of purchase. She continued to deny my order so I asked for a refund. After 20 minutes of deliberation on the phone with whom I assume to be the owner, she said she wouldn’t be able to refund my money and I would have to go through the online ordering system. She continued to ask me to leave and I refused without the food I had paid for or my refund. She began yelling and continued to tell me how much fraud the restraint received. She said I could have cooked up a receipt or debit card to purchase the food. I asked her to call the police. While I was waiting for Jennifer to call the police, she served two customers who had ordered online and walked in to pick up their food just as I had. She did not ask them for their ID or proof of purchase as she had me. The customers were not black and I’m assuming did not impose the threat that they would fraud their food purchase, as I had. I will Never purchase food from this establishment again. They have no respect for the customer and do not know how to operate business...
Read moreOrdered online through google "postmate" and was given a 25 minute estimated time frame for one order of sesame seed chicken (I do not recommend unless you actually like sweet and sour sauce as it is NOT optional and is mixed with the sauce already on the chicken), one order of crab cream cheese wonton (Which I DO recommend) and one order of pot stickers (which I'd never heard of before, and also recommend.)
Within the first ten minutes, the wait time is extended 10 minutes. 30 minutes later I arrive at the store and my order is still not ready. Another 30 minutes rolls by and it's still not ready. To be fair, it simply looked like the little shop got slammed with orders and mine was small compared to everyone else so, I simply think my order wasn't able to be cooked right away because orders ahead of me were HUGE. I would have still give 4 stars if the sesame seed chicken had some kind of warning that it is sesame-sweet-and-sour chicken, as I wouldn't have ordered it and would have picked something else.
That said, they work hard and I know they know my wait was ridiculous but what could they actually do about it?
Suggestion: Have one cook dedicated to the smaller orders...? Suggestion: Own your delay. Don't be timid about apologizing to me for my wait, it makes the apology weak. It wasn't like you all forgot my order, or misplaced it, or just didn't want to do it, you were BUSY! So, be strong and thank your loyal customers (and the new ones like me) WITH SOME GUSTO for their waiting.
I thank you for your service and the meal! I thank you for reading this feedback which is meant...
