L&L Hawaiian Barbecue — Restaurant in Sacramento

Used to frequent this location often, but have not been in a few months until this evening. The food is great as usual, portions are huge, but the two girls working this time were so unprofessional and really do not have basic people skills or common sense, not to mention how unbelievably rude they were. It took a good 13 minutes for the girl to understand that we wanted a bbq mix played with a side of katsu chicken. She kept repeating it back as teriyaki steak. It was so strange that I really thought we were on a prank show. Our order was way off when it was a simple menu item we ordered. I had to repeat that we wanted no rice all mac 3 times and we still got all rice no mac. The food is amazing but I think I will not be going to this location again simply because of their attitude. Our container cracked when they handed us the food so we asked for another container but were told we have to pay for it. We used the last of our money in the tip jar so we only had cards on us, but she except it because the minimum was a dollar. Also, my boyfriend and I were eating outside because seating inside closed at 7:30, which is fine, no biggie, but at 7:55(5 mins before they close), we finished our food and wanted to refill our drink before we left, and the girl would not let us get our drink. She was quite proud of herself and so happy to tell us we were not able to get a simple refill. It was the only time she smiled. I think my friends and family will be going to Ono from now on because customer service there is pleasant and honestly it enhances the experience. I never write bad reviews unless its REALLY bad and those girls are the worst customer service employees I've ever come...

I have never had an experience worse than I’ve experienced here. I have lived close by to this place for 7 years and have never once had an issue until yesterday, 1/14/25. To start I showed up for a pick up order and they refused to give it to me with my name, sent me home to collect a code that goes with the order. There was no code. I came back and the girl at the front gave me the wrong order (still no code!) when my order finally arrives it’s incorrect, I asked them why it is all rice when I ordered veggies and rice, she tells me DoorDash said all rice and they can’t fix it.. then she goes to get the manager and doesn’t explain anything to him so he comes out with his arms crossed and stands over me “what” so I explain the issue again. He then with his arms still crossed and standing over me in an intimidating manner tells me I need to pull up the order and “prove it”. I’m getting flustered at this point because of his body language and he then refuses to fix the order unless I can prove it, this has already been a huge hassle and I’m in a hurry so I just get angry and tell him I’ve never been treated so poorly at any establishment and have never had an establishment refuse to repair such a minor detail. He said “we’re not in the business of giving free food” as if the one extra rice scoop was going to break the bank!! This person must be new as I have never seen him before and I will not be...

I love the food here! It's my second time here and the employees are always so friendly and kind! I got my food to go and one of the nice younger employees got mad my night tonight when she was helping me out with my to go order for food and she could tell I was struggling and needing an astral hand. As she helped bring my food and drinks to my car she she saw my cup was dented and the top wasn't closing right so she went back in and got me a new cup of a Sierra Mist soda with ice and brought it back out the car for me! So thoughtful of kind of her that she didn’t want me to spill my soft drink on the way home! No place or employee has ever done such a kind act like that for me, so she wins a gold star in my book! What a sweet kind gesture! I won't forget that! Now that's great customer service and I wish every place I went to get takeout food was as kind and thoughtful as she was! She totally made my night, I forgot to get her name but she's a younger asian girl with brown hair. Great customer service and I can't wait to come back! They have the best food and great customer service! One of the empties totally made light today with a small act of kindness since she didn’t want my soft drink spilling on me and got me a new one!
